Losing Signal and Quality in scan help!!!
Purchased 3 premiers and have loaded new bin 173 reboot and set up dish when I scan I lose all signal and quality about halfway through on all 3. I have to reboot to get signal back but then lose that. Also I have tried saving the few channels I get but it never unscrambles them before it loses signal and quality.
I have an elite that I've had for several months and have had zero problem so I know it is not a dish pointing problem etc because I am unhooking it and hooking up the premiers in its place.

Re: Losing Signal and Quality in scan help!!!
Do you have quality before scan for 12239 on 119 and 12224 on 110 ?
What is your wiring / switches for the STBs.

Re: Losing Signal and Quality in scan help!!!
Just started over formated stick redownloaded factory file and new bin on stick, loaded factory and hard booted then new bin hard booted. Again can't get 12224 or 12239 on 119 but 12282 and it showed 119 in upper corner start scan and get about 40 channels the signal and quality go to zero scan fails. So tried 110 set as the last thread 12224 works started scan got around 70 channels and it failed lost sig and quality. Problem is all 3 new units do the exact same thing.

Re: Losing Signal and Quality in scan help!!!
As all 3 boxes behave the same, I would suspect somthing else.
The dpp LNBs are power consuming.
Is your dpp LNB Twin or Triple?
Is there an additional LNB hooked to LNB IN?
Do you use any switches?

If the Elite works right, then copy exactly the box setting to one of the Premier boxes and test it.
Do you have 2 cable runs from the dish into the home?

Re: Losing Signal and Quality in scan help!!!
I had tried that earlier but I'm going to do it now. I think I'm getting closer I just unhooked my bev dish (old direct tv) that was working with the elite now I can get a full scan. It appears an overload of power as S2byus pointed out but I'm not getting all the channels so I think clean file is what is needed I'm let everyone know in a sec

Re: Losing Signal and Quality in scan help!!!
ok, I did the clean then sat and new bin still only getting about 73 channels on 119 but up to 123 on 110. It finally auto rolled and started getting tv after about 5 minutes so I'll work on it a little more but have to go to one of those office parties
Thanks for the help and I hope to figure it out from here but of course any advice would be appreciated

Re: Losing Signal and Quality in scan help!!!
In order to check if it is a power problem, I would suggest you to do the following test:
1. Hook the cable from the dish to the Elite IF-A IN .
2. Hook the Elite IF-A OUT to the Premier IF-IN.
With this setup, the power to the LNB is provided by the Elite and not by the Premier .
Depending on the satellite and channel, the Elite is set to receive, the Premier should be able to scan about half the channels (more or less) of the satellite the Elite is set for.
By changing channels and satellites with the Elite you should be able to watch with the Premier anything the Elite is set for, provided you also set the Premier to get that channel.
Important:
Always turn off the receivers from the back switch, before removing and connecting cables.
Let us know your findings and will proceed from there.

Re: Losing Signal and Quality in scan help!!!
I may give that a try if I have to when we bust bev.
But just an update I did a Blind Scan on both 119 and 110 got them all 277 and 319 respectively
Again Thanks for all the help I just need a brain push to get the noggin jump started

Re: Losing Signal and Quality in scan help!!!
ok the lnb for your bev dish needs to be a DP dual.(not a twin.just a dp dual)
you cannot use a standard legacy lnb (standard dtv lnb) to plug into the dish pro plus twin.

This is not bad. No need for the test suggested before.
Depending on your location and dish size, you may be able to raise those numbers with fine tweaking the dish.
Also make a note of what arboristman posted above, for when you will want to hook back that third LNB.

Re: Losing Signal and Quality in scan help!!!
It is a dpp I posted wrong but just for info I was running the direct with a little self azmath and was able to get all channels on bev with the elite attached off of the dpp. But I do believe that my pvr problems was a direct relation to that sit up when I would change channels the pvr would stop. \
I have a dp for when we get it all back though
