Some bad info though ( I almost didn't want to put this out as it will ruffle some feather but I figure t is best to know ahead of time for you) NOT ALL RECEIVERS WILL WORK WITH THIS NEW BIN AS AFTER REVIEW of SOME OLDER MODELS IN OUR LAB, THEY WILL JUST NOT ENOUGH POWER TO RUN THE NEW CODED BIN. It is not all that wont work and approximately what we found was that about 15% wont be able to handle this conversion. This is an extremely complex code embedded here (from the number I worked its approximately NAG2^10power=NAG3. NAG3 is no joke, some wont know this name but if you have done some research, Kudelski Group has really made a giant leap froward in R-n-D.

Finally he only reason I posted this info here and not another Forum is that I revised the server location and legal issues unknown to most that this site has done it extreme due diligence TO PROTECT YOU THE POSTER'S.

my guess is that the very first fta boxes that came out wont be able to handle it, like the 2300/2500 maybe even the 2700 from pansat, the lite from viewsat. boxes like that. but you didnt think that these boxes would run for ever did you? the newier boxes are so cheap now that upgrading to a newier box shpuld be a problem since if you had a 2700 you got your moneys work out of it. and that 89.00 for a vs ultralite should not put you in the poor house. or most of the other boxes either. but dont wate your money on anything just yet! wait and see what comes out and from who! then make a choice, buying a box now might just put you last in the wait for n3 fix. lets see who come out first! in a stand alone fix for stb.

I call BS. Those within the know don't speak. Why is it every major company has come out with some sort of IKS fix? That pretty much sums up everything about a stand alone fix anytime in the near future. It's nice to have hope, but I really hope I win lotto.

why announce any of this...if they are gonna wait till the last few channels are n3 then couldn't charlie just leave those channels n2 indefinitely...no skin off their butts...as far as iks being a telltale sign that nobody has a crack, i don't know if that's true either...even if their is a crack i'm sure at first it will be unstable and susceptible to complex n3 ecm's that could keep receivers down for weeks at a time...it would be smart to have iks backup for the inevitable downtimes...having iks pop up 20 mins after ecm is good customer service...i remember a friend was loving it when neosat worked like that for a couple months back in the day...my two cents

thats why i say lets wait till a fix is really released then we will know the truth. in the first fix they should be a message as to what boxes they will work in, since they have to test all the boxes before they release anything, ll the major players will have some kind of messages as to this fix will work in ......... boxes only.... the proof is in the pudding, but the pudding is not yet ready to be served..

Agree, just look at the math " I worked its approximately NAG2^10power=NAG3.". Based on his math a old unit running a 100MHz processor would have to run at (100MHz^10 = 1 tera hertz) to beable to run the new bin.

there's going to be alot of n3 fix claims from other fta sites and stb manufactuers over the next while untill it really does happen.,.,.,it's all a money grab.,., and a way to keep hopes up.,.,.,and even lead people on.,.,just keep your head up and don't fall for any scams.,.,

a few years back when we had a big ecm that lasted months. there was talk of bins being too big. that part i believe is bs. if and when bins come out they will have them for all receivers currently in service. the older receivers will have bins also in due time as time goes on due to the great work of the coders.

all major brands have not come out with an iks work around yet
some will not admit it but viewsat and captiveworks and pansat are still major brands with lots of receivers out in the market and they have not come out with iks dongles yet so i would not give up on a standalone file just yet although it still may be months away or days away

Agreed Bigevil, however the people with the most stable files over the last 5 months have gone IKS.......That sure looks like a tell to me. JMO.

well right now i am not too worried about it I have myself set up .. i am running 3 things i have first the best never goes down a SUB then i also have a motorized setup and free to air to watch what ever and now ihub and seems to be running ok .. so i will never never go without tv .. but i sure do hope they come out with something why you ask..

then there will be new boxes for me to test and i LOVE TESTING..

Now CW is saying that they have a work around to IKS,they say that they will be releasing a devise that will not require internet. They say that it will be released in about three weeks. Again we have to wait and see.

Might as well add another rumor to the growing stack....another site says " the N3 fix release will be out on " Independance Day to show the "Man" .... They did not specify what make or model , carry on.
