Here are various questions I have been feilding in my PM...please NO more!!!

1) What happenned to the Viewsat forums? Were they taken over by Dishnet?

No, the admin/webmaster has taken the forums offline for the time being.

2) Why was it redirected to some real estate site for a while?

Simply because when you purchase certain server accounts/packages, you are allowed to run a number of sites from your account. Possibly the webmaster first thought it was in his best interest to gain traffic to that site by redirecting traffic there...then later realized it was causing confusion and speculation.

3) Did the actual banner announcement change about N3 on the splash page for xx?

Yes, it did. I just do not know what "anytime" means.

3) Since you are a Mod there, why can't you let us know more about what is going on?

As Moderators we are there to ensure the forums run smoothly...we do not have anything to do with 3rd party coders, nor do we have any say in site policy...we just enforce it. It is the same on ANY forum based board (site).

4) I heard Viewsat is going IKS

NO <---This is in English...please look up translation of choice on Google

5) Why so much negativity about this announcement

Now that is the million dollar question. There are a couple things at play here. A) Card (plastic) folks hate FTA. B) People pushing IKS hate Viewsat and this announcement because IF true, then their sales will plummit. nFusion is the one making the most negative noise, and that stuff gets C&P'd all over the web in full and partial form.

6) Do you not think this is a ploy to sell VS stock off?

Some are stating that this is just a ploy to sell off more units but I have to disagree. Who exactly has Viewsat stock right now? I have not seen any dealers with any significant stock on hand. Any dealer that does have a crap load (if there is such a dealer), would have to be brain dead and not have followed what was going on for a year and a half. Some dealers even sold off inventory in the SA market because Telephonica files are still being released. Nothing will be sold until there is a fix, so saying that it is to sell units makes no sense.

7) What is your personal opinion?

Well, I figure we waited this long, we may as well see what September brings us. It's not like we have any control over what happens anyway.

i'm still rooting for VS and a standalone bin. once that happens, you'll stop hearing all this fuss from IKS, EKS and KHUB users.
