EKS Team Might be picking up Nova & Other FTA STB's

EKS TEAM is considering support for a few other boxes...Nothing has been confirmed as of when this will happen but 1 k and pro will be added to Eks as well as the Nova...The Team is working on this project so we will inform you when they are close to releasing... NO. Only an annoucement that the Nova will be supported in the Near Future whatever near means.

Those channels are what is working on the Neosat Ipro. From what I understand there is some freezing issues but those are the channels you can expect to receive if you have that box and have paid them their $100 fee to use the server, err I mean donation for a totally unrelated reason.

Apparently a one time fee if you are one of the first 1000 to subscribe because they cant do this all day! 100 dollars a year for the rest so I assume the Nova's will be in the rest category.

Why not just spend a few more bucks and buy a solaris? Save more money in the long run and avoid the headaches and as a friend of mine said earlier today avoid the paper trail...this has been posted at quite a few sites today....seems when things are down the rumor mill has become wide open.

Not necessarily. Just because they are familiar with these boxes does not mean they have the connections or capital necessary to manufacture their own boxes. Coding and manufacturing are two totally different birds.

The way I see the picture is that Kbox, SonicView and nfusion are currently manufacturing boxes and if they wish to continue their sales there will have to be continuous support from some unknown parties. The motivation to keep the support going is obviously dollars generated by sales even though we all know that those three companies have absolutely no connection to any 3rd parties whose hobby it seems is to make charlie look like the idiot he is!

But with EKS and I own 2 Ipro2000's once they have the $ from majority of those who are going to subscribe which under normal circumstances would mean that about 90% of those that are going to subscribe will do it within 90 days of the release and then the last 10% will just dribble in - what is their motivation to maintain the expense of their operation and keeping the servers online and possibly very expensive legal ramifications?

It certainly is not $ from Ipro sales as the unit is no longer being produced and with these other units they are talking about picking up - again once they get the bucks from those that subscribe THATS IT - whats the motivation to NOT take the money and run

Especially since the first 1000 subscribers get a lifetime subscription for their 100 - started out that it was going to be the first 500 guess they raised it to try to get some more signups.

Once these EKS subscribers have paid their money and if by chance down the road they turn on their tv one day and get BLANK SCREEN who are they going to complain too? Doubt that the better business bureau is going to take any complaints seriously even if one was stupid enough to file one - quack

Guess they could be motivated by a certain percentage of the subscribers who were 1001 and above when it becomes time for a renewal but what percentage of them are going to renew at 100 or more when for a few more bucks they could just buy another box - and if during that year nag3 is cracked chances are they have standalone boxes that might be up again - So I don't think the eks people can pencil in a business plan that demonstates enough $ generated in the future from re subscribers.

Supposedly this eks team is not the same as the various neosat teams but there excuses were almost identical as eks took longer and longer for its release - oh one of the excuses was they are not going to release it until it was perfect - sounds like neosat iks and hiks excuses to me and like eks none of it was perfect - they have page after page of reported freezing after it was released - then again perhaps that is perfect to these coders!

Good post. I agree with you. That is also why they have to start support for other boxes. They need a source of cash that will be continuous. You dont want to part with your Nova? Then you have to pay them $100 a year to keep it going. To me however the most troubling thing is that they have never adequately explained how they intend to hide the obvious paper trail that leads right to the user. Better to use your Nova for True Fta. No ramifications there.
