Merging Posts

It seems that one of the moderators decided to merge all of the Viewsat rumor posts into one thread - well at least three or four of them. In merging these posts I noted that the replies were no longer in order and that they no longer were necessarily related to what was above them. I only had to look down the main fta rumor mill forum page a bit to see that there were other viewsat posts that had not been merged into the GIANT viewsat rumor post.

Usually when a moderator removes, edits or moves a post he states the reason and identifies him/her self. The moderator who choose to merge these threads did not identify him/her self as did the unknown moderator who initially closed my thread the 'absolute truth about n3 fix', which was reopened by super moderator tomcat01 after a pm from me. tomcat01 left the following reply in the thread:

I think tomcat01 is right and that there are some pretty crazy posts here in the abadss rumor mill and I enjoy them and the laughs that they provide. During this time of Nag3 when many of us are going without or a highly reduced level of TV the humor and rumors in this section are a welcome diversion from those of us suffering from the LAT syndrome "LAT syndrome = Lack of Television".


It would seem to me that the moderator who merged these Viewsat posts must have some real inside knowledge about Viewsat and an N3 fix. Because for some unknown reason he/she choose to merge my post 'the absolute truth about n3 fix' with the viewsat posts.

My thread had nothing to do with Viewsat - never mentioned the brand name or any other brand name in my initial post or my replies! So unless this moderator knows something about Viewsat and an N3 fix that most of the rest of us don't, then I can't help but wonder why he/she choose to merge my n3 fix post with the viewsat threads????

I'm trying to be as respectful as possible in this post and not trying to cause diversion between staff or members and staff.

Truthfully I won't be surprised if this post is removed - had to say what I had to say!

I can't tell you who did the merging/moving of the posts....sometimes if the box isn't ticked it will not be merged...maybe it was an oversight, etc. But I'm sure that it wasn't meant to take away from the meaning of the thread or mix it up. Probably someone was doing some clean up. Sorry if it made such a big difference. I have not heard anything about it prior to your thread.

Not sure why the name of the person was missing, I don't think they were hiding their name if that's what you are thinking. I'm only speculating here.
