As of today the rumor still flows to all FTA Site’s, rumors about a new hack of NDS and Nagra3 encryption system seems to have some merit.
The potential of the hack Nagravision3 system will be a major blow to the ailing Swiss coding specialist Kudelski.
Since yesterday increasingly rumors about the possible hack of the NDS Videoguard and Kudelski Nagravision3 codering system.
The possible Nagravision3 hack is of a commercial nature. There will soon be a "smart card ijskrabber" on the market . The creditability of any lasting effect of this smart card is totally uncertain, hence the pet name "ijskrabber”.
Direct Information: fact is that the new system of (N3) can be breathed, and now we are seeing testing done on (DVB-Cards) and some small hacks on (emulator’s boxes). This is of course the first steps in a viable fix for all (stand-alone) "FTA" Boxes today.
Please note: I would stress again that no (0fficial Hack) has been released and it would still be some months before a workaround could be released for any (DTH) STB.
But yesterday, Mr. Charles Ergen (CEO) of DN "announced in a Memo to the (SI) department that he would be releasing the (G4) card for all PPV Movie, PPV Sports, and all PPV Porn Channels within the next few months for all (VIP) model MPEG4 boxes.
I believe this is a calculated move to counter any and all (loopholes), and or (backdoors) that some (NDS) and (Kudelski Group) coders might have left into their older system Nagra1 and Nagra2 encryption systems that Nagra3 is based on.
This would of course circumvent all work hackers have done up to this time on Nagra3 systems to date, and will cause all the work done up to this point to be worthless. I personally believe this may have been his plan from the beginning and force hackers to stop work on the new system and to wait for the release of Nagravision (G4) cards.

When Odd Thomas first posted that a G4 card would be sent out to Mpeg4 boxes for PPVs and Adults we looked at him weird

why would they spend millions on a card swap and then just do it again for only HD boxes (which is a small percent of their total customer base)

yeah i heard those news since a little before n3 and they also said that the channel to be down were hd channels and you think they are going to put more money to secure n3 do you know they probably have to go the same way they started and redo the whole thing ,i don,t think it happen this are only crap rumors,just my thinking and god bless.

i,ll tell you what you give us proof and when it happens i,ll be the first to admit i was wrong but is never going to happen and if they were going to put more money to redo the whole thing again it would be cheaper to hire the people that dave hired to secure their system .just my 2 cents.

Very predictable!!! This means first a hack! Second, a high number ECMs for the new hack! Third, a new card that puts FTAs back to where they presently are.

I don't know enough about IKS on Chuck and the NOrthern Provider but I find it bewildering that Dave is immune to work arounds provided by card sharing. I am also not sure about the legal aspects of IKS; for example, is it a civil or criminal problem? In any case, the topic gets more interest every day that passes without a so called solution.
