SV Ihub Update? 10/17/09 - You decide...
Another C/P from another site. I swear I didn't write this -- if I did, it would be funny.
Folks,
Just thought I would pass it on, sources tell me, SV is in the process of testing it's new server system this weekend, All indications from the folks testing the system say, that it is performing above expectations and end users should really be happy with the results.
Although they refuses to be nail down to a date or time, (rumor) has it, users could be seeing a new file for both the hub and STB's as early as Monday.
Please don't bash the messenger, I know many are very frustrated at what has been going on these last few months. Yet, sources say that the wait and all the frustration you folks have been going thru will finally pay off.
Also some may want to keep there eye on units that were sold prematurely as they feel prices will begin to rise once the new system is rolled out.
Please do not buy anything until you see it with your own eyes

I think they might actually start taking this seriously. nFusion is taking advantage of the downtime and is finally starting to add HD channels on Ciel II - 129.
Competition is good

Channel depth is NOW more important than how.

I dunno - it either means that all of the other rumors were false (about new files needed, etc). and someone got a Pay-day loan to fund another month of server. Or they are showing us a sign that SV ain't goin' no where!

Re: SV Ihub Update? 10/17/09 - You decide...
So far Im impressed, I dont know how many channels are up but they come in instantly. Not like the lag there was before, it is more like the channels are not encrypted.
We will see what happens.....
Lmao.... after posting this my wife laughed saying "wow I think that's the most positive thing you have said about SV in months........lol

I'm seeing no freezes. Honestly (and people don't yell at me that I'm wrong) but I haven't had a lot of freezing before it went down. Yeah there were a few days or hours that were bad, but for the most part it had very few freezes per hour (and I'm using WiMax! Talk about latency...)

Did a quick scan on channels. HBO and Cinemax are up. Encore and Starz are still down. Many other channels are also down like Disney, Nick, Food, HGTV, DIY .... Switching channels are quick and almost instant, but I think it will change once more ppl are getting back on the bandwagon. At least it is hope and sign that SV has not given up yet.

I've heard that it still does -- as it is built into the BIN.

I do not think the "feature" is built into the bin because it only surfaced recently, and the last bin that we had is dated July 09. I believe the code is on the server.

True - that makes good sense. Did this start happening when serial #'s were enforced? Can't remember.
