VS and Nfusion announcements
forgive me i'm kinda new at this but doesn't Nfusions statement that they will have all channels by 12/1 mean a N3 hack? aren't they working off a sub now? if this is true (and i really don't know if it is or not) then wouldn't that make you inclined to believe the VS rumor?

Re: VS and Nfusion announcements
yes and no the reason is alot of the manufatures do not want to left behind and this can hurt the sales so whatever they can post to make it seemd like they are there too keeps them on par with the recievers ..
there has been alot of companies post there are going to this and that and then not be able to
we will have to wait who know maybe they both will that would be great the more up on cardless fixes great
nfusion always went iks but they had all the channels open that way
i say wait until the end of the week and we will see what happens if it does great if not well the waiting game
alot of rep and money on the line here ..

Re: VS and Nfusion announcements
Since the VS announcement is on the official VS site splash page I would hope they know what they are talking about. If it is BS it would really hurt their credibility. I have read other release dates but it was always in a rumor section and not from a site.

Re: VS and Nfusion announcements
As TC said we will know more at the end of the week. If, and thats a BIG if vs releases a stand alone n3 fix then we begin the fun again....Ecm's and fixes and so on.
With that in mind if there is a stand alone just like before iks based units have the info built in once known and seem to have a lot less down time = waiting for new files not necessary. Of coarse the last part of the statement is with the assumption of a stand alone n3 solution to start with.

My guess is that they figured out a way to combine subs. It is too suspicious to order every channel on dish. They could also have improved there IKS technology. We will see 12/1.

Re: VS and Nfusion announcements
OK everyone put on your thinking caps. There is 2 Iks stbs offering PPV and PORN how would they be getting these channels without a hacked card???and the only other way would to buy these sevices everyday which would cost a few bucks maybe to sell units. Also maybe they would like to keep the IKS up and running. Thanks for any Ideas on this subject

If one knew it would be foolish to say since Charlie frequents these forums.

That's my guess as well. This way they will be able to hide in plain sight. If one of their subs gets shut down they will be able to quickly switch to another. By combining numerous subs into their data stream it will be just about impossiple to trace. Like going from looking for a needle in a haystack to trying to find a drop in the ocean. Also all the locals would be open. Who knows they may already be doing this now.

I would think that they are already using multiple subs. How could one card take so many hits at one time and provide code-words to so many channels, so quickly? I get the feeling that a successful IKS system would need a handful of subs to be able to handle all of the requests and not to burn the card out.
SV did offer and nFusion does offer BEV and DN at the same time. This sounds like combing subs to me (unlike subs at that).

You are never going to be able to offer ALL locals (if they are spot beamed). The originating server is going to need access to the satellite signals of any channel it offers, so the only locals they can offer are those that they receive either by their own spot-beam or CONUS.
I guess there could be a setup with an originating server in every spot-beam, but that would be a pretty crazy thing to do, just to offer say channels from Montana. LOL

Re: VS and Nfusion announcements
OK i got my thinking cap on!
A successful IKS system would need a handful of subs to be able to handle all of the requests, this point is true but i think there might be another way to do the share.
The share must be standalone file and its called what we all have used (P2P)?
Whats the probability?
It has been tested downloading pieces of data to compile 1 full data file.

From what I understand the server or servers send data out and don't rely on receiving anything back so I don't think a single card would be overloaded as it sends the data OUT. In stead of sending it directly to their master box they send it out to the net. They may already be doing multiple combined cards now But I don't think one card SUB would be overloaded as it is only receiving data IN from the source. You may be correct with the BEV and DN theory but my guess is the control words are the same for the variois channels and not stations. If they are combining subs than no body is going to be able to trace a sub to them.

Although the multiple combined subs seems to be making more and more sense as to how they do it and why it stays up. I don't agree with the The P2P theory P2P networks are 24/7,, two way and easily traceable even with IPS filtering. Not only that but the cueing aspect alone makes them way behind the curve. By the time you get the data packets in any usefull form the data would be old and probably useless. Also the ISP's throttling programs in place would disrupt the data once a server was indentified by the ISP and they would throttle the crap out of it since it is clearly underminding their own service. Try to access a P2P network using the sprint wireless network. It AIN'T gonna happen because they block them all.
