40 Pansat Dealers Subpoenaed


this is a subpoena (notice to appear and give testimony) sent to pansat dealers concerning the case:
echo star vs Panarex

an anonymous source recenty informed me that 40 dealers were subpoenaed this week in the panrex vs echo star case for an aug 4th court date.

not sure what to make of this yet.. sounds like a big fishing expedition or maybe more to this

It would seem that the pansat house of cards is falling

This is just an educated guess:

They (echo star) want customers names that did purchase these legit receivers. They will then match names and email address from these legit purchases and match them against members on busted websites. They can then turn this into a bunch of civil cases like dave did in the past. Its hard to dispute if they have proof that you purchased a pansat receiver and then the same person posts in an FTA forum how great there units are running with the latest patches they downloaded. Look at DTV and all the $3500 judgements they received for people who bought boot loaders.. There were thousands of people who were forced to pay up. I would bet Dish will follow this type of action. Once they match users who downloaded the files and can match records of the sale of all the equipment they can make cases. If you have downloaded any kind of third and they link your name (purchase) to your IP/email address, they would have grounds to send you that infamous $5000 extortion letter. Although technically they couldn't prove you used the third party, you would still be liable. Same as the DTV days - they never caught anyone watching their signal illegally, they just prosecuted everyone and anyone who bought or downloaded a


Not saying that will do this but its a bet that they are fishing for this type of information.
