Some of you may know that the HIKS server was busted.

No one really knows how many had their IP’s bagged and tagged.

The facts I received today was that Dish is sending letters out to who every was using HIKS.

At this time we don’t know the information in the letters, as soon as we get our hands on one of these letters we will post it for all to see.

From our experience, we feel that all HIKS users are going to be in a lot of trouble very soon.

At this time I would not use any HIKS period.

NOTICE - We have just learned the following:

V2 has admitted privately that the above is true but is under a gag order plus, this will KILL sales if it ever was made public!

All v2's mods are under the same strict DISH gag order and are ordered to DENEIGH and delete any members post exposing this information.

Said gag order has NOT been filed with the agreement v2 and the mods comply and thus will be safe from prosacution while they collect more IP addresses.

There are rumors about nfusion as well. I wouldn't put much stock in either rumor. There is some fighting going on amongst the different manufacturers.

I have been researching this since I read it.

I have found numerous posts claiming this to be an old post changed up a bit. I don't know if it is true or not.

I can say this. If reading posts like this make you feel uneasy, Unplug your IKS/HIKS and don't use it anymore. Buy a box with good support like SV, VS, or CNX.

IKS goes down just the same as everyone else, so really, why risk your IP being logged.

If these rumors don't bother you much or not @ all then leave your IKS/HIKS on and use it until you receive a letter. (If that day ever comes)

I have an Nfusion and have found that some of the standalone boxes are just as good if not better than running IKS and having the liability.

I personally don't believe they do. The problem is you the "End Point". There is always an end. They may not be able to identify the computer that is sending or receiving info but they can find the modem and the physical address.

The only way around it is to get a wi-fi antenna and try to hit a free hotspot or leach from someone else's Open network.





You can build your own and they are cheap to make!!!

This is total rumor , believe me

as far as an provider picking up ips, almost impossible they would have to interrupt signal first , then all the info that is encrypted would have to be decrypted. Too much time for them to invest.

Plus i have seen posts by v2 saying HIks auto deletes all files associated /not being used every two min.

This thread is definetly in the right spot. Rumor and BS
