how to scan for channels

I have the satellite set up correctly but I don't know how to scan for the channels, can someone help me please..... I have a viewsat ultra lite

on the page where you set up the antenna settings look at the top right corner and make sure the 2 sat names match if they do look at the bottom and it tells you how to scan
i believe it is the red button on the remote for autoscan
i'm not looking at my vs at the moment but i'm pretty sure it is the red button

I've done that with echostar 10,11 and I only get a few channels. Is the problem with my settings/satelite selection or is maybe my dish still not quite right? I'm getting sometimes 100% on my "Q" reading.

How many channels did you get after an autoscan?

I'm getting several hundred...but only a handful work!

post your antenna settings and what kind of dish/lnb you have

Then those are probably the ones that are now nag3, anything that is in the 300 series is pretty much gone as well as many others.
