Onemangang in the house!!! Need newbie help
 Hey everyone, new to FTA. I've been looking at getting setup through ebay with some non clone box. Looks like you can get everything you need for non HD programming for under 2 bills? I was looking at some pansat boxes. Is this the best route to go? Also concerned about the nag 3 upgrade. Any help appreciated. |

Welcome to ABA. No one really knows what will happen after Nag 3 is fully implemented. I strongly recommend the Sonicview boxes. Look at there track record. They have been up since Jan with no new bins needed. All other STB's have had to issue new bins several times since Jan...

If you want to ensure you make the best/correct investment wait a few weeks, before plunking down your $$$ - do some reading, check out the Receiver Review Section for some info you may find of interest.

Welcome, I would go with Sonicview or Nfusion. Sonicview will be a little easier to setup but the Nfusion is a great setup. Good Luck

Thanks for all your input. Why do you hear all this great stuff about Pansat on the net? Thats what I was going to go with. Now after some insight from you guys what makes SV and Nfusion better? Also what would be a good time to buy? Probably after the nag 3 upgrade I guessing....when exactly will that be? Sorry so many ????'s I'm new. Thanks.

The reason why Sonicview and Nfusion are a better receiver is the file support. That is the most of it. Granted the features also sell it. Pansat makes a good reciever, but there is better. I thought the same as you when I started looking. The pansat seemed to be big. I purchased a Sonicview and have never been happier.
N3 is sort of looming now. No one exactly knows when we will go black.
Now as far as purchasing time. Its sort of up in the air. If you want to get into FTA and get shutdown may be a bummer. So the decision is entirely up to you. Nfusion uses the internet to get you files, also known ans IKS. They have a tested workaround to N3. So that would be a receiver that would allow to watch some TV but no PPV or XXX during N3. Everything when it is cracked. Sonicview has some promising files and hands down the absolute best support. Hope this helps, let us know if we can help anymore?

Hello onemangang and welcome to ABA!! You've received some great advice from JC, Creative and Landscapeman.
There are so many different opinions out there about which is the best, that's why it's good to read and figure out what will meet your needs. There are some old Pansats that have been running forever, but the SonicView does have the ultimate best record for support and working the longest right now without having to have a new file.
