New to FTA

Hello,

Iam new to the whole FTA community.
We bought our Viewsat Ultra Lite 8 days before everything started to go black. UUUUGH!
So now I have this box that really doesnt do anything LOLOLOLOL. I have spent a lot of time here at your site just trying to make sense of all of it.
I am the techno challenged one in the house
I am sure that when something gets up and running you will be hearing a lot from me.
Anyways, glad to see that you are all a very tight community and dont make fun of the new guys who dont know squat about FTA.

I was reading other forum posts and is it true that I can move the dish and maybe pick up other sats in the sky and maybe have a chance at television??? Told ya I was NEW. We have viewsat ultra lite. Live in fort myers florida.
I hope someone can shed some light on the big mystery of FTA. With a little help I should catch on very quickly.

Hello and welcome; the viewsat lite can provide you FTA viewing; for about $100 you can get a larger dish and linear LNB if you you're looking for a hobby; not a good time of year to 'test' in Florida, but in cooler part of the year it would be great fun and games;

this is much more than just a place to get files. it is a community with dedicated members,
forums for just about anything, social groups, your own profile page, access to a weekly poker game,
and too much more to list.

helpful hints:
* read and understand the site rules to guide you through our many forums.
* hard reboot with the switch on back of your receiver solves many minor issues.
* before you unplug your receiver, or disconnect any connection including the
switch or lnb ALWAYS REMEMBER to turn the receiver off using the switch on back of the receiver.
you could burn up your switch or mess up your settings if you dont.
* post your type of receiver, your antenna settings, and explain your problem well to receive the best help.
* you need to upgrade your membership to access the files section on this site. this can be done by
clicking upgrade membership at the top of the page. it is free to join the site, ask questions and receive help.
you can upgrade at any time.
* hijacking threads is confusing and not wanted here at abadss. see the site rules to understand
better about hijacking threads. to avoid this start your own thread in the proper forum
if you have any questions.
* this is an informative and friendly site devoted to the fta hobby. the members
and moderators will be glad to help in any way they can.
