New member with few questions
Hello everyone!! Im a newbie and have been reading on here for about an hour now. Everyone seems really nice.
I currently have a shared dn subscription and am in the market for a FTA for my second room preferably with hd. My internet access is only accessable to stb when i am home thru ics with my verizon wireless card. Will that be fine with IKS as long as i have it connected while at home?
Also how many channels are even available right now without IKS running due to N3 switchover.
Just wondering if it would be worth the time to even get a fta if i cant get any dn channels.
Current system is a VIP211, with a dish 1000 3 lnb, pointing to 110, 119, and 129.

Welcome to ABA.
You could get the Nfusion HD but they dont have HD channels open yet on 129.
Maybe i'm wrong.
also there is a SV8000HD but you'll not be happy with it right.
They have 30+ HD channels open but also freezing a lot.
I'm not sure if it is time to spent more money on a HD stb.
You should get yourself a SD make things work and then after make your choice by checking whats going on with HD channels.

Thanks for the quick reply! Currently most of my HD channels on dn come from 129 with my sub box that is. Thanks for the heads up on the box types too. I guess the question i should ask is since the switch to N3, about how many dn channels dont come in? not just hd btw. Just wondering if i get a sd box if i should look forward to receiving any channels. Or do i absolutely have to have IKS right now in order to get anything?

most all of the 100-400's come in except network channels also no ppv and only a few adult

hello, welcome to abadss, the best fta site on the net!!
this is much more than just a place to get files. it is a community with dedicated members,
forums for just about anything, social groups, your own profile page, access to a weekly poker game,
a new arcade, a chat box with a race talk on sundays, a new credit system, and even a daily lottery!
make ABADSS your first stop for everything fta and you will be rewarded with much more.
reading is the best way to learn, use the search option to find posts related to your specific problem.
if you still need help post a question in the proper forum.
helpful hints:
* since the new nagra 3 encryption only a few stb's are working, check the home page or do some reading
to be sure you have or are getting a stb that is working. the only ones that work for now are dependant on
the internet to run.
* read and understand the site rules to guide you through our many forums.
* hard reboot with the switch on back of your receiver solves many minor issues.
* before you unplug your receiver, or disconnect any connection including the
switch or lnb ALWAYS REMEMBER to turn the receiver off using the switch on back of the receiver.
you could burn up your switch or mess up your settings if you dont.
* post your type of receiver, your antenna settings, and explain your problem well to receive the best help.
* you need to upgrade your membership to access the files section on this site. this can be done by
clicking upgrade membership at the top of the page. it is free to join the site, ask questions and receive help.
you can upgrade at any time.
* hijacking threads is confusing and not wanted here at abadss. see the site rules to understand
better about hijacking threads. to avoid this start your own thread in the proper forum
if you have any questions.
* this is an informative and friendly site devoted to the fta hobby. the members
and moderators will be glad to help in any way they can.
