Another newb, giving this a try
Planning to buy a very basic FTA reciever to play around with then move up to an HD-PVR type once I learn to make it all work.
So what is recommended in a basic SD-FTA reciever without me having to read through all the manufacturers propaganda? I have much more to learn but I figured a dependable reciever would be a good start.

Hello and welcome Chaos123
while it's ok to just stick your big toe in and test the waters, why not just dive in and get yourself a HD stb and enjoy fta testing to it's full capabilities.

Hi and welcome to ABA! I know you mentioned you didn't want to read, but I would urge you to look at the "receiver reviews" to help you make a better choice. Laser, Zeke, Spyder and Moe all gave you great advice, so add that to the information you get from the forums here and I'm sure you'll know what you want. The SV, VS, CW are the favorites. Good luck testing! Let us know what you end up with. Hope to hear from you again and we are glad to have you here!
