Hello all.
Just wanted to post up and introduce myself. I've not done any testing since "Black Sunday", (been a while) hahaha!! So, I am starting to research and read about the FTA Receivers. You guys here at ABA DSS seem extremely helpful and from the threads that I have been reading, very in depth with troubleshooting problems, hardware discussion, and programming. I'll do my best as a newbie and try not to ask questions before reading all I can on a topic. Just sometimes, it's hard to find the answer your looking for among thousands of posts.
So, I think I've came to the right place to start my testing again. I have all the hardware required for FTA testing except the main component, a receiver. And from what I have been reading, I don't think I could go wrong with ViewSat, CoolSat, SonicView, or a Captive Works.
Anyway, sorry for such a long post and as soon as I narrow down a choice and purchase my receiver, I'll try my best to help contribute any knowledge that I may aquire during testing.
I'm just glad to be back in the game!!!
Thanks everybody....

Re: bassinwizard
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
I have been reading so much this morning, my head is starting to hurt!! hahaha!! Hurting from all the knowledge I'm getting. Some of the termonolgy is different from the DAVE days I was used to. But I'm picking it back up, slowly.
I think I have narrowed down my receiver choices: Pick 1 - SonicView SV360 Elite, Pick 2 - CoolSat CS7100, and Pick 3 - Captive Works CW800. Now if I had a 3 sided coin, I'd flip it and decide.
Thanks again..
