Wet behind the ears
Hi All:
Im new to FTA & still verry wet behind the ears. Purchased a CW800 last week for the cottage. Tried to no avil to get it running. I was on bell & that is where the dish is still pointed.
I'm reading many of your posts on the subject of the 800 & will take another stab at it the next time Im up there. Sorry to say there is no internet up there, or phone or hydro. Guess that's why I like it there so much.
So if I fail with my next attempt I will be starting the slowest thread in history.

Re: Wet behind the ears
Welcome to ABA!
You don't have running water, but you've got FTA? LOL very cool
You'll need to list your dish and LNB information and your antenna settings and you'll receive help from there

Hi and welcome to ABA! Your dish could be just a little off, or your settings may have one thing that is wrong, sometimes it is the smallest thing and it can drive you nuts and cause you to pull all your hair out!! LOL Let us know how you're doing. Good luck!

Re: Wet behind the ears
THank you alll for the warm welcome.
fossil112 You need to know the dish & LNB? Well the dish is quit old . round about 18" across. I got it from a friend. when they purchased a new home a few years back. It belonged to the previous owners. What is LNB?

Re: Wet behind the ears
hello, welcome to abadss, the best fta site on the net!!
this is much more than just a place to get files. it is a community with dedicated members,
forums for just about anything, social groups, your own profile page, access to a weekly poker game,
and too much more to list.
make ABADSS your first stop for everything fta and you will be rewarded with much more.
reading is the best way to learn, use the search option to find posts related to your specific problem.
if you still need help post a question in the proper forum.
helpful hints:
* read and understand the site rules to guide you through our many forums.
* hard reboot with the switch on back of your receiver solves many minor issues.
* before you unplug your receiver, or disconnect any connection including the
switch or lnb ALWAYS REMEMBER to turn the receiver off using the switch on back of the receiver.
you could burn up your switch or mess up your settings if you dont.
* post your type of receiver, your antenna settings, and explain your problem well to receive the best help.
* you need to upgrade your membership to access the files section on this site. this can be done by
clicking upgrade membership at the top of the page. it is free to join the site, ask questions and receive help.
you can upgrade at any time.
* hijacking threads is confusing and not wanted here at abadss. see the site rules to understand
better about hijacking threads. to avoid this start your own thread in the proper forum
if you have any questions.
* this is an informative and friendly site devoted to the fta hobby. the members
and moderators will be glad to help in any way they can.
enjoy the forums and come back often!
