Re: "Starter" Package
Hello and Welcome to ABA! You'll love every minute of your testing
Most importantly, you'll want to upgrade to VIP so you can load the "tested and true" files from this server.
For non-HD setup, here's what I recommend (depending on your location)
- Dish 500 dish (and mounting equipment...readily found on Eb@y)
- DP twin LNB
- receiver (go here for receiver reviews. I recommend Viewsat Ultra)
For HD setups
- Dish 1000.2 dish/lnb
- receiver (again, research your receivers. Each brand will have one or two capable of HD)
Attached are some pics of the Dish 500 setup and the Dish 1000.2 setup.
The setups listed above are only a sample of what you can do. They are typically the easiest setup for beginners and will give you plenty of channels...probably more than you'd expect.
Post back when you're ready to setup your equipment and we'll be happy to help.

Re: "Starter" Package
Hello and welcome to ABA! You've come to the right site for help! I would suggest you read through the "receiver reviews" in the forum. It will help you decide which one is best for you. Everyone has their favorite. Some are easier to set up than others, and some have better support than others, so it is good for you to look at the whole picture. Glad to have you here. Good luck, and let us know if you need help.

Re: "Starter" Package
hello, welcome to abadss, the best fta site on the net!!
this is much more than just a place to get files. it is a community with dedicated members,
forums for just about anything, social groups, your own profile page, access to a weekly poker game,
and too much more to list.
make ABADSS your first stop for everything fta and you will be rewarded with much more.
reading is the best way to learn, use the search option to find posts related to your specific problem.
if you still need help post a question in the proper forum.
helpful hints:
* read and understand the site rules to guide you through our many forums.
* hard reboot with the switch on back of your receiver solves many minor issues.
* before you unplug your receiver, or disconnect any connection including the
switch or lnb ALWAYS REMEMBER to turn the receiver off using the switch on back of the receiver.
you could burn up your switch or mess up your settings if you dont.
* post your type of receiver, your antenna settings, and explain your problem well to receive the best help.
* you need to upgrade your membership to access the files section on this site. this can be done by
clicking upgrade membership at the top of the page. it is free to join the site, ask questions and receive help.
you can upgrade at any time.
* hijacking threads is confusing and not wanted here at abadss. see the site rules to understand
better about hijacking threads. to avoid this start your own thread in the proper forum
if you have any questions.
* this is an informative and friendly site devoted to the fta hobby. the members
and moderators will be glad to help in any way they can.
enjoy the forums and come back often!
