Finally Got Some gear home.
hey guys i was looking for the the area with pictures to ID my LNB but I really cannot afford to pay for a membership until I know that my gear that I have might work. (this is a 50% hobbie 50% im poor FTA experience)
So here's my deal. I have a 18" direct TV RCA dish
with a 12.2 to 12.7 GHZ single LNB
950 - 1450 Mghz
TCE stock number 246492
I'm not trying for the world here i was told that 101 would be good for nimiq 3 and i could get a couple bev channels which would be more than enough for now and quite the learning experience
i was thinking about buying the captive works 700s
can anybody tell me what (if not everything ) would need to be changed.. and the least expsensive way to go about that
thank you

Re: Finally Got Some gear home.
if trees are very close you may have a problem but you can use 100' of cable before you need an amplifier if that helps you.
hello, welcome to abadss, the best fta site on the net!!
this is much more than just a place to get files. it is a community with dedicated members,
forums for just about anything, social groups, your own profile page, access to a weekly poker game,
and too much more to list.
make ABADSS your first stop for everything fta and you will be rewarded with much more.
reading is the best way to learn, use the search option to find posts related to your specific problem.
if you still need help post a question in the proper forum.
helpful hints:
* read and understand the site rules to guide you through our many forums.
* hard reboot with the switch on back of your receiver solves many minor issues.
* before you unplug your receiver, or disconnect any connection including the
switch or lnb ALWAYS REMEMBER to turn the receiver off using the switch on back of the receiver.
you could burn up your switch or mess up your settings if you dont.
* post your type of receiver, your antenna settings, and explain your problem well to receive the best help.
* you need to upgrade your membership to access the files section on this site. this can be done by
clicking upgrade membership at the top of the page. it is free to join the site, ask questions and receive help.
you can upgrade at any time.
* hijacking threads is confusing and not wanted here at abadss. see the site rules to understand
better about hijacking threads. to avoid this start your own thread in the proper forum
if you have any questions.
* this is an informative and friendly site devoted to the fta hobby. the members
and moderators will be glad to help in any way they can.
enjoy the forums and come back often!

Re: Finally Got Some gear home.
Yes, hopefully your questions are answered and you are almost on your way to getting this hobby going! There is a section with "receiver reviews" if that will help and the FTA Accessory section is good also. Otherwise, just ask if you need help. Welcome to ABA, we are glad to have you here!
