Ready to pull triiger advice needed
Good Morning people,
I am living and working in Mexico, and am just about to pull the trigger on a CW800s, it will be set-up in my home theater and I would like to know if there is anything i should be aware of (potential problems) before i go ahead and make the spend.
Also can you great people let me know how is the audio quality on the unit?
For example, the dolby digital, is it on par with DVD quality?
Bass extention etc..?? and how many of the D* movies are broadcast in DD format? Any available in DTS format?
Sorry for the NooB questions!
regards
Expat

Re: Ready to pull triiger advice needed
welcome and yes many own and love that receiver.
it is important to know that both providers are in the process of a card swap to change to nag-3 and this may produce anything from interuptions to loss of service.
not trying to rain on the parade, just an fyi.

Re: Ready to pull triiger advice needed
Hi All,
thanks for the warm welcomes and such.
I have been reading for a while about the new nagra-3 flavour, wondering about that myself. I have also heard some rumours that it has been or is being looked at very carefully in europe, any ideas on this??
regards

Re: Ready to pull triiger advice needed
in short, i think everyone will know after it happens. i think it must be hard to predict the un-predictable. the providers made changes and spent money, im sure they expect some result. on the other fence, likely its all in the math......

Re: Ready to pull triiger advice needed
hello, welcome to abadss, the best fta site on the net!!
this is much more than just a place to get files. it is a community with dedicated members,
forums for just about anything, social groups, your own profile page, access to a weekly poker game,
and too much more to list.
make ABADSS your first stop for everything fta and you will be rewarded with much more.
reading is the best way to learn, use the search option to find posts related to your specific problem.
if you still need help post a question in the proper forum.
helpful hints:
* read and understand the site rules to guide you through our many forums.
* hard reboot with the switch on back of your receiver solves many minor issues.
* before you unplug your receiver, or disconnect any connection including the
switch or lnb ALWAYS REMEMBER to turn the receiver off using the switch on back of the receiver.
you could burn up your switch or mess up your settings if you dont.
* post your type of receiver, your antenna settings, and explain your problem well to receive the best help.
* you need to upgrade your membership to access the files section on this site. this can be done by
clicking upgrade membership at the top of the page. it is free to join the site, ask questions and receive help.
you can upgrade at any time.
* hijacking threads is confusing and not wanted here at abadss. see the site rules to understand
better about hijacking threads. to avoid this start your own thread in the proper forum
if you have any questions.
* this is an informative and friendly site devoted to the fta hobby. the members
and moderators will be glad to help in any way they can.
enjoy the forums and come back often!
