Echostar 6,8 & 9 Good signal and quality but no channels?
Hi guys I have a new CaptiveWorks 650S that I've been playing around with. Last night I was able to get Echostar 9 and get 46 channels but almost all were scrambled. I have applied fix 1.37 today and it has unscrambled them.
For Echostar 6,8 and 7 on 110W and 119W I have between 80% and 90% on both signal AND quality. I know I am locked on to the Sats but when I scan it (still saying b/w 80 and 90% throughout scan) using AUTO SCAN it does not find any channels. I have tried blind scans as well as the Auto Tuning feature but I'm still empty-handed. . . what am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance guys

Re: Echostar 6,8 & 9 Good signal and quality but no channels?
this is what fordman is talking about. this is your typical hardware for picking up 110 and 119. much easier setup w/o external switches needed. one cable back to your box and *BAM*...you're up and running

Yes. Cisco is correct, those Dave LNBs will not work on DN. The dish 500 will work fine that Fordman01 recommended and it is widely available on Ebay used. It is what I have and works fine even way up here in Canada.

Re: Echostar 6,8 & 9 Good signal and quality but no channels?
Yeah I will definetly be gettin an HD receiver. We have a 62" Sony WEGA thats beggin for it. We had HD with D*TV and the quality really isnt bad at all with the 650s, but I will be investing in one soon. Would I need anything different? Also what stops ppl from just getting the DP Quad LNB and putting it on the Slimline dish? Does anyone have any experience with a good HD STB?

if you're wanting HD, the 500 system won't work for you as it isn't capable of handling HD.
a 1000.2 system is a typical system used for HD. it will pickup 110, 119 and 129 (majority of your HD channels). you'll need a dp44 switch, which can run about $50-70 on Eb@y. The 1000.2 hardware (dish, yoke, lnbs, etc) usually run less than $100.
a good HD receiver is a Viewsat 9000HD. just my personal humble opinion
Attached are images of the 1000.2 system hardware and the switch.
