Hello all. I've got a question I just recently purchased a Nfusion HD package that was labeled as including a Winegard 31" dish with it. Now upon reviewing what was sent I see that they have put a Dreamstar 33". Now I'm wondering did I luck out or get ripped off, is this going to work for receiving 110, 119, etc or is it limited to 118.8 and 119? Any feedback is appreciated - I'm a noob :-)

Re: Question about dishes
Well, while I've got a thread going- I just picked up a second dish -a Dish 500 w/ Dish Pro Plus Twin LNB. What would be the best setup between the two for the most channels living in the NW USA? (IE would it be best to point the Dish 500 at 110/119 and use the dreamstar to pick up other birds - and if so what birds would be best to point the dreamstar at

Re: Question about dishes
If you set up your motor, go to lynsat and there you will find all the sat listing. Not for sure the ones you can hit from horizon to horizon, but you can find out what type lnb you will need for the ones that are fta [the different band withed].

Lyngsat has a good listing of birds, details are not not always completely up to date, but locations and bands are normally correct. BTW, you will need to use a switch of some sort to tell STB to change between fixed and motorized dishes. I'd suggest a good tone switch. Make sure that it passes DiSEqC commands on the side that you connect to the fixed dish, if I remember correctly an Encoda 22khz switch passes on both sides. |

Re: Question about dishes
Here are my suggestions.
The motorized dish will take you a while to get setup. Since you have the Dish 500, I would go ahead and check the dish pointer using your Zip code to find the Co-ordinates for your area and install the dish and get going first. As for the motorized dish with the Invacom LNB, you can set it up and get all of the circular sats. I have setup my system to pick up 61.5, 82, 91, 110, 119, and 129 circular sats and 97, 101(AMC4) and 123 True FTA Sats. Cable from C on the LNB goes fir Circular Sats and L goes for True FTA Sats. You will need a DiSEqC switch to connect the cable from C to Port 1 or LNB1 and a cablefrom L to go to Port 2 or LNB2 on the DiSEqC switch and the cable from "TO RECEIVER" to go to your receiver. Lots of information available here as to how to set up the Motor etc. Need to print out the material and read and read to understand the proceedure before attempting the setup. Good luck and please ask us if you get stuck. |
