smilingjack passes away
smilingjack was an admin on another fta site and passed away this week. He will be sadly missed by the community.

I am in shock at the news I just received. SmilingJack has passed away this past week, shortly after his last activity on this forum 7 days ago. He was not a young man and beat the stroke making a wonderful recovery a few years ago. A Vietnam veteran he went through hell after the last hurricane season when his home in Galveston was completely destroyed by Ike. All that stress and the health issues he had must have been too much for his old body to handle. He was one of the most helpful people I have ever met. He helped a countless number of testers on many forums. He will be missed by us greatly.
Thank you Jack up in heaven, you were one of us.
May you rest in peace old pirate. See you on the other side
this is a little old but he was a brother FTA'er and we hate losing community members in any way but especially to death

Awww... this is so sad.
To have endured the hurricanes, the loss of your home, and a stroke, plus being a Vet, this was a true survivor.
One can only hope that all the people he helped, they will remember him.

I will miss him. He provided help over on the M*** site, I think he was there for years. Always tried to help jsut as folks here do also.
