Bashing Ihub and IkS...
Many members are starting to get frustrated over the Ihub and IKS STB's. The Mods here will allow some disastified talk on the Ihubs and IkS, but there are some members that are starting to bash the Ihub and IKS. You need to remember that these are not comparable to STAND ALONE BINS. Ihub is in BETA format, TESTING stage. It will be up and down and channles off and on. The same thing will happen with IKS as manufacturers try to compete against each other for superiority in this field. Further bashing will will result in WARNINGS first, and then infractions. We want ABA to be the best forum on the net, and not known as the ABA bashing net. Please take this as information now...

Re: Bashing Ihub and IkS...
JC I hope you didn't thing I was trying to bash SV. I was just trying to give an honest opion on what is going on with the Ihub the past few days. I was just trying to keep memebers informed that are thinking about getting one, and letting them know that it has a long way to go before it's perfect.

Re: Bashing Ihub and IkS...
I totally agree with jc7257.
First and foremost, the iHub of SV is at the BETA Stage. If those of you who do not know the meaning of BETA, it means TESTING stage. So, it is therefore expected to be up and down.
Secondly in the IKS format, here again the coders need to have a reasonable understanding on what will make things work. Already, we have quite a few channels up and running.
So members please be patient and understanding with these people who are attempting to get things going, not for thier benifit but ours.
Thank you for your patience.

Re: Bashing Ihub and IkS...
No problem Buddy, we have some members that are making bashing a every day issue at ABA. Your fine, talk is ok, bashing is not. Ihub is in BETA. Just not right to bash something that is still in testing stage...

Re: Bashing Ihub and IkS...
Testing is testing, we are all testers here. If you want uninterrupted service then subscribe to the Sat provider. I am a tester and expect down times, lived through it with DAVE and now with Charlie and BEV.
I watch very little TV and approach every obstacle as a challenge to find an answer.
We don’t want to be a leach or parasite on the efforts of other solvers.
I wish I was better at codes etc. So I can offer only past failures as experience to help others. Don’t be lax into only feeding your sensory, this is a challenge for you to seek out, and or break into the lock that keeps you outside.

Re: Bashing Ihub and IkS...
if everyone would just look at this as testing , make it fun, i have back up and always had, Tbass when i read your post i understood what you meant, but the ( Ihub Blows Save your Money Thread) , It clearly state when you get the file, IT IS A BETA FILE. now that different, people just need to understand that no one owes or promises anything when you buy your stb, just that it is a good FTA receiver, Have A Great Day everyone and enjoy what you have.

Re: Bashing Ihub and IkS...
if a person goes out and forks out his hard earned money for an sv ihub and then takes it home to test it and finds out that it does have a freezing issue we' ll I personally think he has every right to know whats happening with it. I feel the members of aba should be warned about its constant freezing issue and any other related problem that arises with it.
We are all here to seek information and we are able to give our own feedback on any product that we would like others to know about. When we stop and censor people people about their trials and tribulations we'll it just doesn't cut it with me..
I have personally seen the ihub in operation and I'm not really impressed with it at all.. the constant freezing is very annoying. It seems the server issue is has now become a constant problem too..what more can you say? quick run out and buy one...
I don't need someone to keep telling me that "oh wait. it will get better, its in the beta stage and they are working on it"..That resembles an old neo thread that use to circulate and we know what happened there ..
I have eyes, I see whats going on and its not pretty at the moment. If you had a new car and it turned out to be a lemon I'm sure you would not sit on your butt and smile away and tell everyone that it would get better..
all we can do at this stage is wait and see what happens and hopefully wait for the best..
any other info is bullsh!t unless it happens now..this is the real world people
speculation and rumors just don't cut it today my friends..

Tetsing is testing, but a majority here are free tver's. Hence the bashing. Get a service and subscribe. It's time for a thinning out so to speak.

Re: Bashing Ihub and IkS...
I have read somewhere that the beta file is working fine. It is all due to the server. This runs of a subbed card, and only 40 clients can be on a subbed card. This is the major problem they have right now. they are being overwelmed with new cilents and can't stay up with the volume. Expect major freezing and down time during peak viewing hours. This kind of make sense, due to it's always worst at night.

Re: Bashing Ihub and IkS...
Folks to reiterate the many good comments above on the side of testing, read your STB warranty; we are testing outside the box (pun intended); any modifications, alterations changes outside the warranty, are the owners responsbility; if you don't want to play, don't pay here, period; get yourself a sub, set back and relax and pay charlie/dave

people need to understand that just because you paid for your membership at aba. that your not entitled to free tv service. this is simply just a problem solving place where a bunch friendly people can get together and help solve problems together. and enjoy each others company.

I see your post on every single thread about problems. and it is the same B.S. lets figure this out say someone spends $175 x 3 for boxs. $60 for dish and 90x1 = 675 for 2 months of testing service as a hobby. FAR FROM FREE there was some pretty outreaching claims being made. the service is 100% dead right now. with all fta's that was expected for short periods of time in the past. Sv had a killer rep getting things done fast and making it reliable there for making the product more in demand and fetching a higher price. the coders this is not a bashing on them. they are amazing people. i doubt coders have much to do with ihub. i hope for the day that SV returns to their glory. but SV with the ihub is NOT leaps and bounds ahead of others. these sites are to share information that maybe valuable to others. right. I am hoping to add a little value and a different opinion to all the great things we have read the past few weeks.

Re: Bashing Ihub and IkS...
I think we are starting to see a more balanced view of how well the iHub works, and of course as each day passes, not only is more progress being made, but more people are using the service and more problems are being created.
The posters who are providing the "negative" are REALLY just providing what is happening at the moment...those posters shouldn't be bashed for that reality reporting.
In a week, a month, 2 months more will have happened good and bad. Heck I'm just WAITING a bit on everything...no hubs of any shade for me at the moment. It is after all, JUST TV and we should be able to suffer the loss of whatever we like if for a little while or a longer while. Before there was satellite there was cable and before that rabbit ears and rooftop antennas. I was happy to get 3 channels on a black and white tv when I was growing up.
