Step by Step dish setup
Hi guys, I'm a newbie, I already decided to start learning about dish setup instead of wait for my guy every single day, this is my brief history:
1 Dish 500, LNB Legacy Twin LNB1, nfusion hd box, the first time the guy left my dish directed to 129, then I got ppv hd channels, fx hd, usa hd, bet, logo, mav, versus and some basbeball games, everything was ok.
After latest nfusion update 129 is useless for me, then I call my guy to redirect the dish to 119, its 3 days in a row and we are not able to get 119 , they guy thinks it can be low sat signal, but I really don't think it is, so I decided to do it by my self, I friend of mine will facilitate me a sat signal meter, I will post photos of my equipment here, then I will need your help guys to please tell me what to do step by step.
My coordenates:
I'm very close to this ones:
Latitude: 9.9122°
Longitude: -84.1382°
Find attached my lnb, dish pictures
Thanks

Re: Step by Step dish setup
Your dish is such that you can only have a Single LNB.
As such the best alternative is to mount that dish on a Motor then you can get 110, 119 and 129 plus 91 and 82. Since you have an HD receiver, 129 and 82 will give you HD Channels.

Re: Step by Step dish setup
I'm in Costa Rica, we do not use zip codes, my dish is kind of heavy around 110 pounds, the size is 2.66 L 2.43 W, it will be very hard to add a motor, according to all the dish installers down here we can only get 110,119,129 from this side of the world...
Thanks

Re: Step by Step dish setup
I have just been to that site and looks like a Good unit as it says you can identify the Satellites. For that price it will be a good buy.
The other good one is the Bird Dog, but that costs around $650.
What you have on the dish is a Legacy Dual LNB. And you can only tune into One Satellite.
Your coordinates for the Lat and Long you gave are as follows for 119:
Elevation: 53 deg.
Azimuth Magnetic: 254.3 deg.
Set the elevation to 53 Deg. Adjust the Azimuth to approx 254 deg and set your Antenna Settings on your receiver for 119 as follows:
Satellite: Echostar 7, 119W
LNB Power : ON
LNB Frequency: 11250
Transponder 12239
LNB Type: Single or Standard.
22KHz: OFF
DiSEqC Switch: None
Motor: OFF
Legacy Switch: None
Then slowly move the dish left or right in small increments till you see the Quality showing in green and tweek for maximum. Lock the bolts. Then adjust elevation to get maximum again. Lock bolts. Now you should see 119 Locked on the screen.
You are done.
Then select to Auto scan the channels.
Good luck. If you need more help please ask.

Re: Step by Step dish setup
Sorry janycr. Since your dish is not motorized, you can only pick up the one satellite you are tuned to. But if there was a possibility of fitting a Satellite motor to it then with a Invacom 031 Quad LNB you can tune into 110W, 119W, 129W, 61.5W and all the True FTA Sats like 123W, 97W etc.
Have you checked for the possible motor for your dish?
