cd drive help
when i put a CD in my drive it wont "auto start", im trying to install norton on my computer but cant get the CD to start up, what do i do?

If it wont run that way. You can go to start menu click on my computer then click on cd drive and run it that way.

when i click on my computer and then i click on the CD drive, no files are displayed at all? its like the drive does not exist? but if i put in a CD with pictures on it i can view all the picture files and pictures???
i know the norton disk is good cause i installed it on another computer successfully

You can enable auto-start for your CD-ROM drive by going into the Device Manager and choosing the desired CD-ROM drive, click "Properties", chose the "Settings" tab and check "Auto insert notification", click "OK" and reboot.

if the CD is not a CD but rather a DVD (which a lot of new software is) the CD rom in the machine may not be able to read it.
When you installed it previously on the other computer, it may have had a DVD capable reader in it.
... just a thought.

Do You try to open that Norton CD, in other CPU? maybe the CD its not good. Or blank CD.
