HAppy CAnada Day Abadss. HAve a great day all. Well, most events in Toronto are cancelled cause of the city workers strike(did you know they get 18 sick days a year they can bank year over year and get paid out when they retire). 
Looks like it's backyard pooling again, oh darn

Thanks for the great info to a great national holiday. Not celebrated as wildly as the Americans and their Independence Day...Wow. Little more history on Canada. Back in 1867 there was only 4 known provinces, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Upper and Lower Canada. Upper being upstream of the St. Lawrence River and Lower being well... downstream. These were changed at that time to Ontario (Upper) and Quebec (Lower). The Quebecers probably hated the idea of being established beneath anyone and thus didn't accept English as a first language and to this day maintain and defend their historical culture. Good on them. West of Ontario wasn't even known at that time but there were excursions heading West to gobble up mroe country...
