I have seen here and there about the thought of using one of the programs that hide your IP address. Interesting when using Ihub. But, these programs run on your computer. Ihub connects directly to your router. How are these programs going to work???

well, your router is configured through your computer, so i am guessing it has something to do with that.??

There are programs that will hide your ip address and show like chine or somewhere else than you original ip address. Just do a search on Google and there are many programs that will do this. I know this will work on the Solaris. I have a China ip location.

Also another quick noe, you can turn these programs on and off as you please as well.

Uhmmmm, Well. ?. . .Then I take it from your post that the program(s) set up the router and then when Ihub goes directly through it to a server somewhere, is how your IP is hidden.

Actually your ip is hidden by scrambling the ip address to somewhere else.

SLY-CAT, all your router does is read the ip address and sends to the server and pings back with information.

If somebody was actually taking the time to find your IP address, then those programs you get will not help you. The people looking for things like that are looking for server locations and who is behind them.

If you're talking about using Blackroc TOR....that is actually pretty safe. It uses Socks V5 proxies which for all intents and purposes are TOTALLY anonymous. What I mean by that is they do not leave behind ANY traces of your real i.p. Any proxy besides a Socks proxy can and will most likely leave behind "variables" or "http forward scripts" that will contain either your real i.p...OR the fact that you are using a proxy. Socks proxies leave behind NOTHING...in that any server or webpage log views will show just an i.p with no idea that that individual was using a proxy.

Your router is nothing more then a "gateway" to add more devices to your internet connection. Thats why its important to configure Blackroc correctly and have port forwarding operating and operating correctly in your router. By assuring that you are passing the traffic from the IHUB through your router and out to the web. The IHUB traffic will never be present on your computer at all. Now I suppose you could run WiresharK and "sniff" the router traffic or your IHUB lan i.p...but again thats router traffic or your IHUB lan i.p....not your computer.

But be forewarned there is NO OTHER proxy software that I am aware of that will hide your i.p through the IHUB like Blackroc TOR does. Most if not ALL other proxy software uses "anonymous" or "high anonymous" proxies....these are NOT the same as Socks V5 proxies and contain more risk in their use.

Thx Emsudos, when I googled blackrock I found many versions, all diferent file sizes, indicating, new or full version etc etc. If you can please post a link to a version that should work. Oh, is it absolutely neccessary to port forward??

unless your computers off, also my comes into phone jack, modem, and out to router. Seems like by this time its already been traced. Just a thought

I agree seems like they work well covering your isp to the computer and thats it. Now if we could instruct the ihub to do what we wanted seems like that might work, along the lines of the computer

Ihub to router to modem to your computer to Internet??? If the software is on your computer won't it hide everything behind it??

I'm running a program works great, but when start up other computer doesn't cover that one up. Maybe if you went through your computer and kept it running 24/7 Zek. Just my opinion still working on it

The software Tor and Blackrock require the computer it was intalled on to remain on ALL the time. Mmmmm.

yeah I see but something doesn't sound good about that one, maybe the cost of the computer lol. I don't know, I am thinking the info is already in house the min it comes through the jack, isp and all we just don't know it because computer doesn't tell us until it knows. Hope I'm wrong
