Has any one heard of a receiver called....
Hey every one, last night my friend called me to get my opinion on a receiver that he is willing to buy called HD PRO(it cost CAD $ 260)....the seller told him that this receiver will be conceted to the internet to be able to see tv, and the down time is almost to none!! i tried to google the receiver but i came up with only one related to directv.....the problem is my friend in the other city (vancouver)....so i won't be able to see it by my self, so i was wondering if any one heard it before.....thanks in advance

From what I've read of the slingbox I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole....but thats my opinion

That device is used to hack cable tv signals. I suggest you be very careful as many cable companies can tell if you are messing with their signals, especially if you use them for your IP

Re: Has any one heard of a receiver called....
The slingbox is the best thing I have bought in 10 years or more. It is toally legal and I can watch my tv at home, including recording and playback from anywhere in the world using my PC. I highly recommend it. You can also get the firmware to use your sling on just about any type of receiver ever made including FTA receivers

Re: Has any one heard of a receiver called....
Slingbox is not an fta receiver. If you want to try it out, slingmedia.com , is the place to do so. I have one also, and it works quite well. You can get them to work with most FTA boxes. Echostar does in fact own these devices.
