Anyone considering Iks, read and keep yourself informed!!
Hello everyone. Being I have an SV Ihub and I have some spare time due to looking at a black screen. I thought I'd write this so anyone that is looking at buying an Ihub can save some money. If your thinking about getting one DON'T DO IT!!!!!!! Many may consider this bashing Sonicview, but that's not what it's about. If I can save just a few members on here from spending their money on an inferior product, that's what this is about.
Sonicview can say all they want about they are working on a server, and it's in beta stages. I really don't think they care about it. All they want is your money. There are other brands out there that have made steps on improving their servers, because they care about the customer. Anyone who may think that sonicview has such great customer support. Let me ask you this. Why wasn't the sv4000 included in the Ihub. In my opinoin It's one very clear reason. They knew there where lots and lots of 4000 users out there, and this was a great way to get them all to buy a newer unit. I would bet a weeks pay on it, that if SV ever comes out with a stand alone bin. The SV4000 will not be supported. Take a look at veiwsat. The plat 2000 has still been supported with new bins, even though VS has made several newer units since then. That's support my friends! Remember when Bev switched to n3, and Sv leaked this majic board BS. They came right out and said that it wouldn't work with the 4000 units. What happened then. well I'm sure a bunch of people ran out and bought the newer units on pure seculations on this majic board rummor. Funny we never hear any updates on this majic board anymore!! In my opinoin it was a huge scam!! How can anyone trust a company, that when n2 was up and running and all was good with them, always stated. IKS is very very dangerous to the end user, and we will never go to an IKS system! We don't want to put our users in danger with legal issues. Hummmm, seems like money talks and BS walks now don't it.
One last thing also, and again this is only my opinoin. I have no facts, it's just my speculation. Anyone who may think the SV coders are so much better then other coders, are way off. They got a really big name at the end of n2 because they had a fully working bin that never went down. Why was this? Here is my take. the coders didn't figure it out. SV bought something from the inside. Everyone knew n3 was comming, so someone on the inside sold them something. Sonicview bought this, and made some really fast money on getting a great reputation at that time. As far as I'm conserned their rep has been damaged beyond repair for me, and I will never ever again suport them.
Well if just one member on here reads this, and can save some bucks. I did my job then. I hope people are starting to relize Sonicview isn't what people think they are!!!

Re: Anyone considering Iks, read and keep yourself informed!!
From what I've read. Nfusion, and Kbox has been having good up time. cnx has been having problems, but I have heard they have a plan. They are going to have several servers. one for each brand of unit they have. we Will have have to see how this works out, but at least they have a plan. Unlike Sonicview at this time

Kbox operates very differently from the others. CNX will be coming on strong in the near future...and nfusion... there trying.

I have been extremely disappointed with the Ihub. Up then down and freeze every few minutes.

Re: Anyone considering Iks, read and keep yourself informed!!
I guess my main point I was trying to make was. The days of Sonicview being #1 and having blind faith in them is over. They are last in the IKS department. They made a lot of money off of this, but I question how much they are putting back into it. If any. Since the majic board scam. I question their motives towards the customer.
Plus did anyone hear, or know the reason why the 4000 wasn't supported by the Ihub??

Re: Anyone considering Iks, read and keep yourself informed!!
I have been watching the IKS wars on the forums since N3 started. At the moment Kbox seems to have the most stable solution according to most users that have more than one box. They do not have VOD movie channels to my knowledge though.
Nfusion is mostly stable with the occasional freeze. Sonicview unwatchable for most. CNX still not up unlesss something changed very recently.
Except for those of us that watch true FTA, it seems Kbox and Nfusion owners are the new kings of TV Land.

Re: Anyone considering Iks, read and keep yourself informed!!
Recently had an opertunity to purchase a sv8000+8psk+ihub at a really good price. Had a problem with paypal and it didn"t go thru. From reading other peoples post I'm glad that it didn"t go thru. I"m hoping that a standalone fix will be in the future. Thanks to this site for people who tell it like it is.

That's not a very good answer my friend. Look at the VS plat 2000. it was discontinued years ago and replaced 2 or 3 times by newer units. Viewsat never stopped supporting it to this day!!! They didn't hold people hostage and make them buy the newer units everytime one came out. See my point? SV cares about nothing but making money.

I'm just saying why should the coders write a new code for iks for a receiver thats been discontinued...yeah they do it for stand alone files but SV won't bother with an iHub for something they don't sell anymore. As far as the VS platinum they used stand alone files to where you don't have to purchase any kind of dongle or hub.

Re: Anyone considering Iks, read and keep yourself informed!!
I have supported Sonicview for years. They were a company that was trusted, strong, and with a reputation above all others. I now put a lot less respect in Sonicview. There Ihub is turning into a total flop. They keep posting that they are working the issues, installing new servers, yet the freezing continues and keeps getting worse. I often wonder if it is a bunch of high scool kids just playing around. My trust in SV is diminished terribly. If SV doesn't do something to rebuild everyones trust in them, this Ihub is tearing there reputation to little pieces that may never be strengthened again. It is time for SV to quit the games with this Ihub and get back to the real issue and release a stand alone fix for N3...

Re: Anyone considering Iks, read and keep yourself informed!!
BTW I do agree that it looks like SV was just trying to fatten their wallets during this blackout...they didn't do their homework on iks but maybe they didn't care as long as they could make more money. Its really starting to look like SV is not much better than a bunch of ambulance chasing lawyers.

JC. I know what you mean. I don't think they are spending anytime on a stand alone fix. I think they have a lets make some fast money on the Ibub, and when a fix comes along we'll just jump back in then adittude.

I don't see much differance in making a stand alone bin for something, or a bin for the Ihub. From what I have read it's not like sonicview invented anything in the Ihub. it's just a common donggle. I'm sure that the 4000 could hanndle it. It's not that much different then the 360's. I don't think it would have been hard at all to do, they just didn't want to, because they wanted sales. But then again I'm not a coder.
Also thank you for your opinons on this, I like a good discusion

I have never trusted the coders and manufacturers. They are all greedy. I wouldn't be surprised if they sold the IP addresses of the IKS users.

Why would you say that sv was the king of the stand alone fix?
They took everything vs figured out and ran with it. If anyone was the
KING of the stand alone it was VIEWSAT. We will soon find out who is the true KING of STAND ALONE (again) when VS comes out with a stand alone for N3.
