No more 110, 119,129, in the midwest
I was talking to a dn dealer today and he is not installing any more !000.2 dishes only 1000.4 dishes and pointing them at the eastern arch, he told me that dn is going to be phasing out 110, 119, & 129. He said that he can no longer order any equipment for 110, 119, & 129. Has anyone else herd anything like this and what sats are in the eastern arch

I know that the new eastern arc includes 77, 72.7 and 61.5 but I don't see 72.7 in my sat list on my sv8000

This is horrible news. There are trees blocking 1000.4.

Re: No more 110, 119,129, in the midwest
Well...
Several HD Local channels in the midwest are (newly) up and going on CEILII. It would seem to me that 110/119 are still in good hands and I think you got a portion of the whole story....
There are simply TOO many customers to replace all that gear. It may be done through attrition, but even that will be a difficult task.

Re: No more 110, 119,129, in the midwest
some more info on this subject:
EchoStar XIV
Under constructin for launch in late 2009 to 119° (other estimates put the launch in 1Q10 for service in 3/10). This satellite has been designed with a combination of CONUS and spot beam capacity and could be used at multiple orbital locations. The satellite is capable of operating all of its channels on a large “CONUS+” downlink beam that serves the United States including Alaska and Hawaii, and the Caribbean ( CONUS map national spot beam maps individual spot beam maps - SatelliteGuys****). Certain channels can use 114 transponders on 51 spot beams.

first of all, that doesn't make any sense, ciel 2 replaced echo 5 at 129 a few months ago, echo 8 was replaced with echo 11 at 110 less than a year ago and sometime in the next 12 months echo 14 will be replacing echo 7 at 119. these new sats are capable of handling more channels and spot beams and send much stronger signals than the old ones. the eastern arc sats are the older sats moved to new positions. echo 8 was moved to 77, echo 6 is at 72.7 and echo 4 is primarily used for dish net mexico. second the western arc covers nearly 95% of the country while the eastern arc is pretty useless west of the mississippi river, the eastern arc was created to get service to the people who weren't able to get 129 for the majority of hi-def channels. bottom line the dealer who made that statement doesn't know squat about the product he's selling unless he is in the extreme northeast or extreme southeast of the u.s.

Re: No more 110, 119,129, in the midwest
Here are the facts of the situation.
72.7, 77 and 61.5 are specifically for the Eastern Arc and is spotted by the 1000.4 Dish. As a result all customers in this locality are being re dished to 1000.4.
All other areas will remain as 119, 110 and 129 using the 1000.2 Dish.
Just for information's sake, the 72.7 is presently broadcasting in Mpeg4 and I am sure so will 77. I have a dish tuned to 72.7 and I know that it is a mirror of part 119 and 110 but in Mpeg4 format and I can view the channels since my NF HD can do the Mpeg4.
The Installer that gave you this information was probably instructed bu DN to change dishes in the Eastern area and has misunderstood the situation.
Absolutely. You have my asurances that all will be well.
Otther related info in the preceeding posts and explore related threads on the subject in general will be useful as well..
You must also realise that currently ONLY -IKS capability recievers are working while the folks are working hard to address n resolves the N3 issue - again many members have subscribed to the fact that nFusion is most reliable n stable given the present operational evironment....hope that puts the perspective as you go along with your project...
