Paypal warning
i know this is not quite a FTA post, but i also know that many here have paypal account. be warned.
my son had $1000 withdrawn fraudulently from his account and had to call PP to have it resolved.
PP admitted that they had security breach and 20 000 account informations were stolen.
we changed our log in info immediately.
just passing the word.
it was saturday i believe.
mods, feel free to move the post accordingly, i could not find a better spot.

Re: Paypal warning
Wow....how coincidental....my wife just ordered some boots on her paypal acct.Seems like Saturday was the day...for some reason, paypal would NOT authorize her credit card and asked her to RESEND the request.....she did. After about an hour of this crap, she called her mastercard who said the money had been requested and released 6 times.......makes a pair of 200.00 boots , worth a little bit much. She called paypal and said $1000.00 better be put back and they said " it wasn't there fault"......call the company who she ordered from.......we are still waiting to hear back......Everyone beware.

Re: Paypal warning
i most appreciate everyone's concern. much obliged.
we had it resolved right away. fortunately.
PP apparently is not into warning customers of such nuisance, and who would - not good for business.
i have 2nd safeguard with them. they have only cc number on file. reason being - if they let it slip through their gates, and charge falls onto cc, all i need to do is to call my cc and make that charge fraudulent/unauthorized. then PP will have to deal with my cc, whilst my cc credits my account back. that's about only thing i like about this inevitable evil, cc-s.

CAREFUL!!! there's tons of phishing emails that look like PP emails, but will bring you to a look alike site asking for log in info. never ever!!

Re: Paypal warning
Thanks for the warning!!
Yeah, PayPal would never send an email asking for your information.
About a year ago, they *did* send me an email asking me to contact them on a different matter.
Anytime I have had to deal with them, for whatever the reason, they have been prompt and courteous.
