I just discovered Fta opportunities from a friend of mine a couple
of days ago sooo now I'm trying to gain some knowledge into this subject,

I'm interested in all aspects of FTO receivers as they relate to over the
air TV, also if this technology can be used to hook up to the internet, at a
reasonable price.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Welcome to abadss,glad you found us. The fta hobby is a reading hobby so visit all the forums and get as much information as you can. I personally would recommend a viewsat ultra for ease of operation and terrific support. Fta equipment will not work for the internet, special transmitters and dish receivers are available, you can expect to spend a huge amount of money along with a monthly fee of well over a hundred bucks. Some day all internet traffic will be done this way, it is coming. Hope this helps you out, have a good evening.

Glad to have you friend. There is several FTA receivers that are great. The Viewsat Ultra is good, Sonicview 4000, Captiveworks 600, Neosat ipro2000. If we can help you when you purchase your STB, let us know. We have plenty of experts here to help you...
