Time to Trade Up to Charlie?
Greetings All
I've got a SV4000 which I am happy with and I've been sucessfully able to pull in a few things from 91W but I'd like to try to see what I'm able to pull down from 110W as well.
I've got an 18" dish with 2 LNB's one installed in the 91W position and the other at 110W ... both appear to provide decent signal strength and quality readings; however 110W doesn't seem to pull anything in as I have the dish set now (as it is pointed squarley at 91W (incidentally I have 91W is on Disq1 and 110 is on Disq2) given that I've just reported, do I have to physically adjust the dish's azimuth? or should the signal come in given fine that the quality and signal strength appear (at least electronically) to be sufficent?
If it is suggested that I should phyically adjust the pointing of the dish (everytime I wish to see what can be had on 110) should I add a dish motor to my set up as changing the azimuth of the dish manually each time would suck!!!
Your thoughts / suggestions?
Looking forward to your input
Regards,
CG

Re: Time to Trade Up to Charlie?
Im on the same project. You cannot pick up 110 when you are pointed at 91. The signal you are seeing is the 91 signal and not 110 at all. In order to pick up both you need two dishes, one pointed at 91/82 and one at 110/119. Good luck!

Re: Time to Trade Up to Charlie?
put up another dish with 2 LNB and a bracket so you can get 110 and 119 on the dish then hook it up to a Diseqc switch to get 91 110 119 at the same time without moving any dish all the time or go with a 33" dish witha all in one braket to get the same thing

Re: Time to Trade Up to Charlie?
Thank you for taking the time to respond. I truly appreciate the input ... this was just the type of advice I had hoped to get from other members here
It appears that I'll be taking take the LNB out from the 110W position on my initial (current) dish and then point another dish at 110W using the surplus LNB ... two dishes appear necessary if I want a lot less 'yo-yo effect' on my current SV4000.
Cheers

It's better to use an Elliptical Dish 18"x24" and a bracket. With that you can get both B*V and DN.I mean 119,110,91 and 82.

Re: Time to Trade Up to Charlie?
Yet another take on a possible solution .... I have to say now I've got some decisions to make perhaps I should go the 24" x 18" route and sell my two original B3V dishes (if anyone is interested, drop me a line).
Thanks for your input (solution)
