Hi,
I have been down with the dreaded boot loop for quite a few days now.
The only ways to recover your unit as documented here and elsewhere are:
1) Try using factory bin - use Loader2. If successful, finish off by loading the latest bin.
2) Try using the boot loop fix file (as usual, use at your own risk). This is a special 32MB+ file that theoretically writes zeros on top of all your FW settings. I saw some postings of people successfully using this file, but not sure if it ever works for 9000HD.
3) CLONE a working 9000HD. Unfortunately, the only way that seems to be possible to do this is by way of connecting a Master set.
4) If 1-3 fail it's time to send the unit to VS or an authorized VS service center.
I tried 1) and 2). File transfer works like a charm for both types of bins - 7+MB (the normal bins), or 32MB (the FULL, zero padded image bin).
They do not work for me, and for the large majority. Actually for 9000HD I don't know of any success using 1 or 2 above.
3) I will most likley resort to that come time this week is my favorite unorthodox alternative does not surface - See 5) below.
4) Absolutely last resort as I would have to pay. And if this comes back again... what? pay again? Forget it... And this device is buggy, so the chances of needing another fix are not that low.
SO, option 5), that I have been trying to find for days now, to no avail.
I am SURE that there must be a FACTORY DEFAULT FULL 9000HD IMAGE available out there, from VS that will achieve the same effect as cloning a device out of the box. YET, such file may only be available to (some) service centers, at most. It may be that VS could be afraid of clers using it for their "evil" purposes. Well, that is my guess.
So, still waiting for a few days.
If anyone has anything to add, please do.
BTW, there ZERO info on the possibility of doing 5).
Options 1-4 are all documented in many placed, including here.
Please post back here once you recovered your device.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
