Re: who are the coders
They Actually Work For Ted Turner. They Are All Unionized And And Their Jobs Only Last For About 4 Years As The Stress Is Too Much For Them.. I Think They Also Require Meds To Be Supplied To Them 24 Hrs A Day.
Somebody Help Me Here..

Re: who are the coders
Only a few people know exactly who some of the coders are. If you were a coder, how many people would you want to know that you did this. I know some of the real serious coders that break the hard to fix codes request large money for there work. If you spent days trying to decipher a code no one else could break, wouldn't you want to get paid. After all, these STB's are really not that great for just FTA, so the manufacturers hire and purchase these fixes to sell there STB's...

Re: who are the coders
i dunno, something tells me you wont find them in the yellow pages.
if you would like to know a support coding team -what they go by just ask.
other than that, they wont be popping in to tell them their real names and how much they made last year.

I asked the same thing one time. i couldn't get a straight answer. i would think that coding is too much hard work for it to be just a hobby for someone. i would imagine that they are compensated for the work they put into all the fixes. i think the real question is who compensates them for the work they do? i dont know if you will ever get anyone to answer that.

Re: who are the coders
I don't think that is a question that you need an answer to, nor should it be asked. you a cop ? just worry about watching tv, not the guys that are getting you it. i don't mean to be a dik, but it is not a question that a coder will freely answer to begin with. its like asking to name the drug dealers responsible for bringing drugs into north america.

Re: who are the coders
Thanks everyone for not giving the secret away. It would have been very embarassing to have to tell my dog that someone ratted on him, he's worked so hard at the new codes for the past couple of weeks.

Re: who are the coders
1st off don't ask and don't tell...just accept the fact that there really is a santa clause.
coming from a electronics engineer standpoint, the coders i work with get paid well - really well - but they do alot more secure code that bev and dn won't fund (its just tv signal) nor do they need to secure things the way we do (there again its just tv signal). but, like someone hinted to before...fta box makers can't legally make these programs to free up the signals...however the same coders that they have working for them do often write code "off the clock, lol" or they contract it out. this helps with the sale of the box.
