VIP... Does the money go to the coders?

I keep seeing all this talk about the coders and paying for VIP to support them... Being a journalist I decided to use my connections in the tech world to examine this quite thoroughly. I spent three weeks talking to and meeting several coders and reps for several manufactuters. In fact this whole thing started due to a conversation with a life long friend who writes codes. Over the years he has tested everything from the HU cards to the NFUSION.... But no where in these investigations could I find any of this money actually going to the coders... Not that I even care. FTA is called that for a reason. The money you spend on your box goes to the manufacturer who in turn, pays coders to keep there boxes running and in turn selling. I think a lot of people on here are being mis lead. The reason people pay for access is CONVENIENCE and nothing more. If you want a convenient link to files for FREE TO AIR satellite then pay, if not spend your hours on free sites waiting to access the files due to overwhelming volum on the site. Me I get my codes emailed from a tester and think at some point we all lost track of this being a fun hobby and not a business. Thats just my two cents... I hope at least someone can read this before it gets deleted as they always edit what they don't like. Is that what you people pay for?

Why the hell would the coders work for dirt or free? Would you work for free? Without the coders, the manufacturers would be selling boat anchors. I'm thinking the coders who are responsible for keeping the receivers flying off the shelves are making a good chunk of cake.

Read around on this site my friend. This site will tell you that the very small fee they charge you here, is to keep this site going. When these people make a complaint, they get NO FEED BACK, and NO REFUND. Even on one post today, a person who upgraded their membership asked THE SITE OWNER A QUESTION. What was the owner of this site's response? "YOU ARE WASTING MY TIME!" What the heck is that? The more time I spend on here, the more I see that this is just a scam to the everyday FTA person. Hopefully someday it will stop!

I will also add, that they tell you at this site, that their BINS are the best and safest. That is very laughable. I have looked many times at FREE sites and these bins are exactly the same. The FREE sites even post the newest bins first. Then magically this site gets them. Wonder where this site got the newest bins. I think you can come up with the answer to that.

The manufacturers pay the coders buddy. Thats what keeps the boxes selling. As for not allowing people to post links... Thats hilarious. lLets just say thousands of people read my column every day. Don't write silly responses or this site will be the story of the day.

One more thing. If this site truly cared about its users like the others do, they would allow posted links - no site can have all the info you need so the help is limited. They are just raping people who don't know any better for their cash. The money doesn't go to coders. Not to mention all the money they make from their advertising.. Laughable.. Amazed this thread still here.. Be gone soon. Rest assured. If it is thousand and thousands will hear about the sites that will help them.

You really couldn't have said this any better. People do pay for the convenience of getting the files here. What paper or site do you write for?

canada/leaf, you don't have a membership to download so how would you know? i don't delete these posts here, and i don't edit them, people have a right to see how ignorant you are.

In case anyone is interested, leaf got banned for insulting people so he signed up under 4 other usernames and writes these threads and talks back and forth with himself like he has all this support on the site. I don't ban him because i think it is good for people to read the nonsense these people spew. Everyone is entitled to thier opinion. I have asked on numerous occasions which people were burned and he can't produce any name s or threads. He just doesn't have anything else to do

the money from this site does not go to coders in case anyone is interested, it goes to the site. the receiver manufacturer's pay the coders in many cases. Pay them very well i might add.

Since you have all these coders sending you files (which I doubt because I have been doing this since 1982 and have forgotten more then you know) why don't you start your own site and let us come an talk crap there.
And since you have no need of sites because you get your files strait from the coders why the hell are you here?

I'm not going to ban anyone anymore no matter what is said because we have a great bunch of members and we need to have some kind on entertainment for their money they have contributed.
Where else can you go and get this great show for the pennies we pay here?
I want them to keep entertaining us and we will try to keep them going as much as we can so keep the kids away from the screen.

chill out, only time will show that the coders get pissed off because others make money on their work...the same story has occurred before...

there were some real knock down dragouts over the dave files...the dealers vs the freewarers who wrote the scripts...

let it rest, this is what destroyed a good thing, to much backstabbing...

I tracked the HU crack down only to be backstabbed later so chill before to much is made of nothing, if you know...so well...you know...

Hey carp, I was going to ask desjardo the same thing. A couple of days ago he opened a thread about how his receiver was not taking the bin file.
He gets the codes somewhere else but want the people from this site to help him out.
Now, if his coders "buddies" send him the files, wouldnt they have better knowledge to him solve those issues?
