Why no D****TV - ABA DSS

I've been visiting several different sites trying to learn about the FTA community and noticed they are no D****TV viewing topics discussed. Does D****TV has a system in place that does not allow the viewing that is available by D***N. If so why would D***N not adopt that system and shut everything down? Could someone please explain what the differences are and why.

The difference is the programming on the smartcard.

Appreciate your response, but you are making the assumption that I am smart enough to understand your response. What smart card?
If that is all it is are you suggesting that the D***N pople are not bright enough to figure it out and implement the same solution as D****TV?

There are multiple threads like this one already here, do some searching. Basically they don't have it as a cost factor. We don't have the ability to crack it because its not needed / card not comprimised to the public

Neither make up their own cards, their both done by a 3rd party. A smart card is about the size of a credit card with a micro chip imbedded on it. You insert it into a slot on a receiver and the chip is what runs the receiver. Direct can make a better smart card because they have more modern receivers in the field, if dish updates their receivers in the field, they could upgrade their security, but it takes a lot of cash.

I'm going to break it down as simple as possible. Dave hacks were designed using a proprietary smartcard. Dave launched an aggressive lawsuit campaign against many many individuals. Anybody buying or possessing unlockers, unloopers, or anything used to manpoulate the data on the cards was subject to lawsuit.
Then along comes FTA. These boxes can run script without modifying the smartcard. In it's original state it is completely legal to use and possess. No way to prove on the user end that these things are being manipulated to decode encoded streams. So now Charlie is going after the importers of these units trying to prove a link between the coders and manufacturers.
I believe there are hacks for Dave, but everyone is scared s!!!tless, because of potential lawsuits.
Just my thoughts.

I don\'t think that the Coders are hacks for Dave because they don\'t want to loose potential customers to FTA. More FTA users = less potential customers for Dave.

they have been able to hack dave but it does not last long a day maybe so it all comes back to money im sure when charlie goes down then one of two things will happen, only true fta or the coders will have to find a way to give the masses what they want eather way it will not be easy. so remember this is just a hobby and to always keep a sub if you are that much into tv

I posted another thread asking the question: Can I take the legit Charlie Smart card out of my clunky dn receiver and put it in my pansat 3100sd and use the pansat for the stuff I'm paying for?
