Ok, First off I'm going to say that I think this site is great. The info is amazing here and help is even better. The problem is, if this is a site that is charging people for a file download, What happens when receivers like nfusion and neosat are using isk and download right into the receiver without using a file? What are you going to charge the people for then? I think it's going to devastate this site( and not just this site). Are people going to pay for information that's free on the net? That's just my thought and I'm not trying to pi** off anyone, I'm just stating a fact.
It's a hobby folks...it's supposed to be free isn't it? Show me why I should pay and I will. But if I'm going to pay for information I can get from anywhere on the net....Why should I pay? Go ahead folks and jump on this and show me the way.....and I'll pay.

I think you are very wrong, all you have to do is read all the posts here from the nvision/neosat crowd. Seems to me that there is a lot more to this than "just getting a file"

you are a 100% right. this is a great site. and if it ever came down to that. i am sure that most people will donate. its well worth it. for all the help you get here. and all the friends you meet here. i know i will donate. wouldnt you?

I have a nfusion and there's not a problem here at all......It's a great receiver, the best receiver yet and I'm not worried about anything. Looks to me like the receivers are going to go this way. If they do....then what?.....How are they going to charge people then....For what?

personally I pay for the tried and tested files that only this site offers. I know several people that refused to use this site for their downloads and 2 out of 5 have dead receivers, they now pay for this site and LOVE it. For the most part everyone tries to help. If you prefer not to pay for the file then don't no one is twisting anyones arms. But again I prefer to download a file that has been tested.

save your money on the filels you dont need to bond out of jail for the nfusion u use there gonna catch up to all thise who use em sooner or later just like the did oj simpson and fined him 10,000.00 for stealing sat. so i say bank you dough your gonna need it and the information your talking about is free aint it so whats the point u dont pay any way and you can donate you dont have to pay i pay because the files are tested and i lost 1 stb already to bad files from a free site...

You're a site helper....and that's great. But please be honest here.....Do you pay now?....chances are...no. That's because you help out, and that wouldn't be right if you did. So you're not paying now....start paying and I bet you'll see what I'm talking about....Please don't think I'm crapping on you, just try to change my mind and I'll pay.

Yes this is an awesome site. I am a member of another site where we donate to help with the server costs. You will notice there are a lot of Nfusion owners asking questions here all the time. They come here to get one on one, human to human interaction; they could go many other places but it's out users, mods, helpers etc. that provide a wealth on experience and knowledge. Maybe this site will have to rely on adverstisement revenue and donations someday; who knows. If good people stay here and help each other out, it won't die out anytime soon.

well if no one has to download any files my costs would go down quite a bit and i wouldn't need to charge.

But right now we have gigs of bandwidth being used every month and i get charged for that.

And the thing about it is, this is a business. This is one of about 45 other active sites i own. If this did not make a profit or have the potential to make a profit i wouldn't keep it up.

i'm not going to pay the server costs myself out of my own pockets so other people can get sat for free. I'm doing it because i know how to maintain and market websites and make money from it. I'm not ripping people off at the prices we charge and if you don't want to pay for the downloads you don't have to. We offer free support and free information. If you want to use our high speed servers to download files when all of the other sites are down, you have to pay a fee. For me not to charge people doesn't make any sense.

Regardless of if you think this is a hobby or not, it still costs $$ to keep this site up. The other day when the files came out, we had 0 downtime, Dss Tester was down for hours, so were all of the other sites. We were up because we have 9 dedicated servers running this site. At a certain point when a site becomes big enough they can't survive on shared hosting alone, they have to make a jump to dedicated. And with the membership base that we have, we have pretty high costs not only for the monthly rent of the hardware, but also the bandwidth fees. The bandwidth fees are primarily generated from people downloading files. Thats why we decided to charge for downloads.

I also give the mods some $$ for helping out with the site because they spend a ton of time here and i don't think they should do this **** for free.

In summary you are not paying for the files, you are paying for our servers to be up when others are down so that you can download them.

Again...this is a crazy and pointless arguement. You have come to a pay site and now complain about paying. You are pissing people off, because this is not the first or tenth time this has come up. The admin just stated the money thing perfectly. Any more threads like this should be replied with Admins last post here and then closed.

I don't know if users under stand what it cost to keep these sites up and running. The cost is quit high so donations are needed.Every site I have been on asks for donations or a VIP memberships of one type or another.Now that being said I do believe a site should prove them selves to futcher members before asking for money!! How do we know your files are good and not corrupt? Everyone has good intentions but there is always someone out there who doesn't care on what if any damage they can do.

This site has been around long enough to no longer have to prove anything. They do not ask for your money. If you want files then you have to pay. You want help then its free. The files are always tested. But again there is nothing to prove...look at the amount of time this site has been around and the number of members.

And like i said in my post, if my bandwidth costs weren't so high i wouldn't need to charge for downloads memberships.

How are you so sure that IKS will be the future. This is a pay site...when that time comes it will be up to the admin. FTA will still be around and so will plastic solutions. There should be a thread created for these types of questions...and anything outside it should be closed.

thanks admin for stating the obvious. japes you are definately entitled to your opinion. Really though i seriously doubt that sv,vs,cs,cs etc is gonna stop their support for the stbs that are out there now. Even after ipro gets the kinks out of iks its not gonna hurt the market for what we have going on now (supply and demand). And sure we have plenty of people using nfusion and ipro (iks) but take a look around we have over 170000members i seriously doubt iks makes a dent.

Its very simple...over and over this threads are created and some people do not like the idea of paying...and thats fine. This site is pay site, and you will not change that. Everyone is welcome and information here is free. Get your files somewhere else if your against this or do not have the cashola to pay. Then come back here and thank the guys that help you load it.
