The new neosat pro uses an external internet adapter to get online. right? and if i understand it correctly this adapter connects to the serial port of the receiver, the same port most stb use to do bin upgrades... so, is it possible that the other brands could come out with their own external adapter to implement an iks solution?
or am i just day dreaming..?

Anything is possible. You can even get do Internet Connection Sharing via serial port. It's up to the coders to see if it's worth the trouble.

no,thats still just coders and team working on that.thats not out for public yet.-the sonysat iks that is.
right now,you have 2 options.the neosat ipro 2000 or nfusion.
neosats constantly gaining on its iks system and is FAR more advanced unit that the older nfusion nova.BUT nfusion has all up i think on 110/119/91
where neosat still has "most".its all the important ones just about,so i cant see going with old hardware anymore.i say neosat is way to go.its the one with the future.

Hey arboristman, im really liking the neosat 2000, but ive got one question, do you think theres any chance that they may drop their support for it? i read somewhere that they did that with some other receiver, so im just wondering.
(by the way, if i do buy it its gonna be because of you and your great review on it, so i hope you get a cut from their sales department )

ooooohh. that's opening a can of worms. there's a big, ugly, interesting, ongoing story behind that occurance, but to answer your question; probably no more probable of happening in the future than with many other manufacturers.

NOT starting a rumor here.and NO i haven't heard anything of the sort.

and now neosat bought out/merged with neusat.

So what is the latest neosat offering. Ipro2000. Ipro 2000plus?

I attempted to find that out by going to the source. There is an 800 number on the neosat website out in LA. neosatusa.com I've tried calling several times. However, after numerous rings I got a message stating the voicemail was full and cannot accept new messages and please try again later.

Not very promising if you have question or need any tech support. I really would like to hear from the "neosat champion" where he is getting all this inside information from and why is the manufacturer unavailable?
