Re: Sonicview 4000 or Viewsat Ultra?
They are both good receivers but I find the Ultra to be more user friendly and more reliable. Great support too

Re: Sonicview 4000 or Viewsat Ultra?
I have both and I like each one. The sv has been quicker for new bins lately, but the vs is usually pretty good also. Its hard to decide for me because both have been pretty much bulletproof. They are both user friendly and very reliable.****n't go wrong with either.

Re: Sonicview 4000 or Viewsat Ultra?
Go for either the Sonicview or the VS Ultra both are good, the SV4000 doesn't offer the "----" feature, which the Ultra is famous for, and shy away from the Viewsat Xtreme, as it is now discontinued (although still supported).

I've used both, I prefer the SV4000

Go with SonicView4000...but I would keep the CS too.
There will be times when it will work when others will not.
But upgrade to a CS6100 for better support.
Another great (support) unit is CaptiveWorks700S up all the time first & cheap.

Re: Sonicview 4000 or Viewsat Ultra?
No, its been known to get hung when updating files and when it does it dispays "----" on the front panel. Its a bit of a drag when that happens ... search for "VS Fail Fix" for more info on that "feature".

The ultra is a fine stb with great support and always there when the tough get going..
The sonicview 4000 and the viewsat ultra have been the 1-2 stbs for the last year and both having great support.. The Ultra is still number one in many peoples eyes..

Re: Sonicview 4000 or Viewsat Ultra?
The Viewsat Extreme is discontinued, although still supported - just something to think about.

Re: Sonicview 4000 or Viewsat Ultra?
Hahahha - OK that was funny.
Although, in the last post I said Extreme was discontinued, and in the one prior to that (in this very thread i might add) I warned about the VS Ulta "----" feature
I'm closer to hitting my 2800th post than my 800th <smile>.
And now I'm one closer.
