i have 2 computers that say com port fail - ABA DSS

i try too diffrent loaders and thay say com port open failed one of the computers is new iam try to set it up to load boxes what do i need to do ?

your com setting are wrong. go into tools and hit configure and change your com then hit connect

thats not the problem because when i open folder then i hit the loader to open it thats when it say com port open failed

on the loader where it has com port 1 click on the drop down arrow and try diffrent com ports

Open your Loader and go to TOOLS>CONFIGURATION and select another COM port.

Did you try to direct the port in you device manager?

Plug in null-modem to computer

go to : control panel** System** Hardware**Device Manager** Ports(com&lpt)** Usb-Ser** port settings**Advanced......Com Port Number

Figure out which port number your null modem is connected to on the computer...
(Usb Port Number)

Direct your null modem to work on the port on your sys using the method above assuming the drivers are installed for rs232 cable

Probably using the wrong cable for the loader program. What make of stb are you trying to load?

My bet is its a Viewsat since they had mentioned Loader2.

it does it with out a cable hook up i go to the computer hit my folder open it hit the loader 2 thats in the folder then it say com port failed that before i have the cable hook up or before trying to send the info

Connect your receiver to the serial port.
Make sure you have real power on and front panlel power off.
Start the loader
Selcet the file to load
Initiate transfer

yes and the cable is good because i used it last night for box to box and it work i got new computer lastnight but some thing needs to be setup because it just wont work i tryed all the com 1 throught 10 and they all say com port open failed with good cable the right cable and it all hook up with the box off the switch on back off has some thing to do with computer

When you open the loader and it says com port error don't worry, if it says com port error when you click PC>STB then this is a problem.

that what iam getting at i open loader it say com port open failed i hit the ok then i open file hit the new fix then hit stb but nothing happens just keeps say same thing i need it for my viewsat pl thats the only way i know how to load it

This is the only way to load this unit. Are you using a usb to serial adapter?

Sounds like defective cable maybe.Why not try to download loader 2 program again,it may have gotten corrupted somehow.
