Re: Dn Quad's
Yeah they have 4 outputs that you can plug in 4 different STBs to. And they can all work independently receiving the two birds that the LNB is pointed to.

Re: Dn Quad's
Yes they both have a built in switch but the settings for the Legacy and DP LNBs are little different. Legacy LNBs are little old now, and DP LNBs are easier to work with and compatible with just about any STB.

If you mean from Legacy Twin Quad LNB to DP quad then no you don't have to change anything in the equipment, but you will have to change your antenna settings.
They practically look identical but the DP only has a DP logo on it.

Re: Dn Quad's
alright so if you have two Dual Dish Pro LNBs, let's say aimed at 119 and 110:

Then in order to get both simultaneously you are probably going through a switch then to the STB, right?
Well if you replace the two Dual Dish Pro LNBs, with the DP quad then you might end up doing some fine-tunning to the dish if you are getting poor signal, if not then just run one cable straight to your STB, from any of the four outputs on the quad LNB and scan each bird separately.
No switches required.

Re: Dn Quad's
you could go with a dp 34 switch and get the same result with the lnb you already have dont know about the cost of a dp34 switch but you might want to look at it.

Re: Dn Quad's
Yeah might as well go with the DP Quad LNB, they come with a multiswitch already built in. Most likely you won't have to move the dish at all, because the LNB you are using now is the same in dimensions as the DP Quad. I not to sure about used LNBs dude, if you get a guaranteed that it's working then go for it. But I would still get a new one, they are around $20-25 on ebay.
Ex. Item Number: 160214170182
You can hook up all 3 Neosats with this LNB no switches required, so I guess it makes it a little bit simpler to use.

I'm currently using a dish500 with quad lnb as well. They work very well. Very cheap too. I bought both the dish+lnb for $40 locally. Perhaps it's worth a try to look at your local craigslist/other classifieds.
Just so we're clear.
Dual lnb=connect to 2 receivers
Twin lnb=get 2 satellites
Quad=get 2 satellites and connect to 4 receivers.

This is what you'll need to get (or make, whichever):

Re: Dn Quad's
If you already have a yolk like the one on the above image, then you dont need a new one. You can use the one you have now.

What you're using is a TWIN lnb, not DUAL. Don't get that confused Dual=1 sat 2 rec twin=2 sats.
And if you already have twin, you won't have to replace your yolk as it will fit the quad lnb.
