c/p from official CW forum:
"This is not official yet, but IKS is a definite go for all our FTA receivers excluding the linux-based CW3000. USB add-on are already going into production and will go on sale as soon as we have our first IKS prototype up and running.
ETA: June 2008"
Cheers...

Re: Captiveworks going IKS?
Darn more letters to learn ....... IKS.
Please what does it stand for ...... "IKS" = "I keep signal" ?
Is this something that runs through the internet but no one wants it cause they can trace back to IP number?

IKS - Internet Key Sharing.
Yes it works to through the internet. And it seems to be the way to go for most STB brands. Even Captain made a move to go IKS. Now CW, ofcourse nFusion and Neosat started this move, and everyone will soon follow it seems.
As far as the tracing goes, the opinions are divided among users, and many still prefer the old fashion STB ove this issue. But sooner or later I don't think we'll have much choice but to go IKS.

Yeah another mod posted this on April 1st so I wasn't sure that it was not an April fools joke. LOL. Glad to hear its true. Maybe my cw800 will still be good for a while longer. I wonder how they will accomplish IKS and PVR with only 1 USB port?

Re: Captiveworks going IKS?
Actually, it would be quite dumb to go with anything other than serial Unless they're planning on having IKS support only for cw700/800.

Re: Captiveworks going IKS?
I wonder how good the IKS support is going to be with CW. Hopefully it makes a good contender to Nfusion, or better.
