I'm torn b/t nfusion or cw700--arg!
I'm basically nearly a newbie who is testing only one box-a neosat iPro plus.
While it is currently smoothly running cardless (on DN only) with 285 & it was running well on iks w/284 before it went down for about an hour at an inconvenient time. Also, the 285 cardless is not picking up the locals at all.
I am looking for a backup box.
nFusion's iks has apparently been up except for a few minutes here & there. However, its price is about $185 shipped w/o any sort of bridge. The CW700 can be bought for $110 or less shipped & apparently has very fast cardless support plus a promise of iks this coming June, of course with extra for a dongle adapter.
I have read the reviews & lurked on the cw & nfusion forums, etc & I'm (being a cheapskate) leaning toward the cw 700.
Here's my reasoning:
1) If you combine the Neosat's cardless files AND the iks feature it has been down for more time than the CW 700 which so far only has cardless solutions. Moreover, it seems as if the CW700 has been up when the neo has been completely down & the Neo has been up the small amount of time that the Neo has been down.
2) My wife (like most women-bipolar) who alternates from hailing me as a genius when she's watching HBO when the Neo is up & cussing me out when the supposedly reliable iks goes down in the middle of her CNN show would be much less likely to pout with another $110 spent on this hobby than nearly another $200 thrown toward it.
What would you guys do in my shoes?

NFusion has the most uptime. So if you want a backup box for when the neosat is down, it's best to get an Nfusion. CW usually only beat neosat by hours so you'll still get the downtime

If you can't wait until June. I like the Nfusion, because better uptime then the Neosat. Nfusion came out with the proxy bin file, to ptoect your from the providers. Does Neosat have a proxy bin file??
Bottom line both Nfusion and CW, are good stb's. Good luck in your decision!!!!!

CW best bin support if you cant connect to net
nfusion cant be beat on uptime with iks
Im most likely the biggest nfusion fan here but regardless of far more advance stb's being out there nothing can touch the software and support for the nfusion

Re: I'm torn b/t nfusion or cw700--arg!
if you don't want to wait til they fix everything up completely, why not try out the captain 7100?
it also has the high quality pic your used to from the neo and also supports iks should you want to buy the adapter for it latter.
pretty nice systems as well.with nice file support also.
check out the review in the receiver review section.

Re: I'm torn b/t nfusion or cw700--arg!
LOL dufta, I completely identify.
My quandary is whether rock-solid reliability is worth ( in my wife's eyes) the extra $75-80 price difference b/t the cw700 & the nFusion on top of the $230 I spent on the Neo.
The Neo I have really is a good unit, but on retrospect, I really shouldn't have bought Neo's kool-aid about their iks reliability & I should've acquired an nFusion in order to establish home-cred with my fta know-how with my family. Gotta admit, though when the Neo is up it rocks. Problem is that, so far, it has proved to be down more than some of the cardless only STBs.

O god, Arb,
Just when I think I've established a binary CW vs NFUSION coin flip, you introduce a legit 3rd option! (arg again, LOL) The review of the CAP 7100 looks great. However, is its support historically as good as the CW700?
