Site slowed to a snails pace
Yesterday during the ECM I could not gain access to ABA, When I did get on I saw an impressive 6300 or so members.
Will ABA be increasing servers to accommodate
the load during heavy times as ABA's user base is growing rapidly?
I was able to get on a couple other sites during this time that don't have the user base that ABA does. Understandably there will be growing pains along the way but can someone let fellow VIPers know if there is a way to allow a more seamless entry to the site during high volume?
Other sites go into VIP mode but I think something like that would take away from the helpful nature of ABA.
Thanks
Lonster

Hey Lon, go to Mozilla Firefox after you sign on with your usual IP and that will get you around the site and also is very fast. You will have to bounce back and forth to check your mail though

Re: Site slowed to a snails pace
Lets keep in mind that the ECM came just a day after the site's upgrade. The sudden flow of 6k members while the admins are still fixing a few issues on the site really took a toll on us. Things should be back to normal and back to speed.

Re: Site slowed to a snails pace
Agree with Apoc, a heck of a lot of changes going on around here. I just wish the people that are running this place, (Mods, Site Helpers) could be a little more informed on some of the happenings here. I am definitely not against changes for the better, but always in the past, Eric has kept us informed on what is going to happen. Seems like the ones that are making this site what it is are being left in the dark...

And sure there was an added load as both SV n VS plus host of other hugely popular recievers had their fixes released with in a short span preceeded with major maintenance n upgrades 4 d enhancement/integration of added features to d site were factors that can be attributed to such isolated experiences in such times..
Generally it was running like a charm ..there were over 6000 on line for an extended time line n the site ran like swansong..
Wonderful ... cheers 2 d crew 4 all d gr8 work...folks..u make us proud 2 b part of it...enjoy d show...

Re: Site slowed to a snails pace
Thanks everyone, I haven't been on much lately, but I did try the other day while the maintenance screen was up. Now I know, and way to go for keeping her up while the bin was down.
