polygamist sect is fighting back

The church of jesus christ of latter day saints has launched a website , to try and show their side of the story, Where young girls below the age of 16 are married to older men , in defence of their way of life they show how the police stormed their "Compound" , this seclusive lifestyle in its self is problematic, Why would they try and gain world wide support for activitys that the World deems outragous behavior.

I myself beleive that if you cannot live within the rules of the united states, for whatever reasons you should move to somewhere like guiana and install your cultist activites outside our countries boundry's.

The real question I would like answered is this. these fanatics all proclaim
Christianity, yet if you go to their church and really listen to what they say about other christian groups, what they preach is sanctamonous
aninemity, in other words they and their perticuler sects of christianty are the only ones that will really go heaven.

I wont beleive that they are christins untill they can spend a few sundays together, then maybe i would beleive they could spend an eternity together.

and the last thought is this. If you cant get along, with the people you live with and have to seclude your activitys in order to perpitrait them. then you hideing your activitys for a reason. Dont hide in plain site then say your not hideing :>

Happy earth day lets all live her together, in the here and now and not plan to live later in some other place that might be better...

This story is a tough one. Its very sad.....

Part of what bothers me so much is that these people only have allegations against them, nothing proven yet.

The law enforcement went in after a young girl allegedly made a phone call saying she was being assaulted and held against her will. If it is true clean that place up by any means possible, IMHO. However in this day and age I cannot believe the person or persons from the law that accepted the call would have let this person off the phone without getting a name, or even a way to remain in contact.

The child and family services agency dealing with this crisis doesn't even know which children belong to whom, and they want to foster the children or put them up for adoption. Holy crap (pardon my terminology)

This story makes me feel very uneasy as there is always far more to the story.

If there is a problem with this sect than as I stated I would support what ever means required to resolve the situation, however young children have been ripped from their families and may have never been harmed at all.

Waco Texas is still in the distant past. At least this time no one has died.

the problem is that i understand is that nobody is letting on to who these children belong to. CPS is going who's child is this, and all the sect members are looking the otherway not owning up to who child is who's. so CPS don't know what child belongs to what parent. the women and children are passed around that place like a hot potato so much and are brainwashed by the men i don't think the women know.

I watched Dr.Phil with the wife today because they were talking about this. Yup I dont think anyone knows whats going on anymore. Generations of people born into the sect that they never had a chance from the get go. Its all they learn so its all they know.

Shipping kids across the country in a way referenced as " It was like we were cows and the farmers were bidding on us", by the niece of the head guy.
I hope they shut down all of these places as they have them in the U.S and Canada.

I guess they had a lot more knowledge of the situation than initially released to the media and we are sure to learn more everyday.

Dr Phil definitely shed some light on the subject.


Your right Zekester there is no room for people like this and a more serious approach should be taken against any persons willing to put kids in harms way.

I probably don't know enough on the subject to comment intelligently, but I believe what United States and Canada have done incorrectly is let these situations last and grow for years. That in itself is the biggest crime. It would be nice if any country who is going to raid a compound (don't you just love that word) be totally prepared. Find supervised accomodation for everyone, take everyone, then separate the woman and children from the men. For woman and children who were born and raised in that enviroment may as well been born on another planet. They are confused, and they have already been taught to dislike and distrust anyone on the "outside" The elder men know better. They are the real culpirts. I believe that the younger men are dispersed so that they do not compete with the older men or are raised to carry on "their" tradition. Like I said, neither US or Canada should allow these situations to exist. Why don't they enforce the laws of our countries? Recently, I saw a man in British Columbia being interviewed, he had 50 - 60 children, doesn't even know their names and said that he really doesn't even like children (charming charactor). I took one look at him and thought ....... not for all the money in the world.... buddy ... and I'm broke !!!
