Is my tree blocking my dish?
So i have a dish thats gettin 110 and 119...in the winter when all the leaves were gone i had good signal for 119 and 110, now that the leaves have sprouted i lost 119 completely signal is 0% but 110 is fine gettin about 70
so i think the reason is my tree is blocking 119 cause i tried moving my dish around and still 0% while in the winter it was completely fine...if i move my dish higher do you guys think i will be able to catch 119 better??
i also just got a 33inch dish planning to get 118 so do you guys think putting a bigger dish while go past the leaves?
i've posted some pics so tell me what you think guys
O yea the LNB that is 119 is on the bracket thats not attached to the dish so on the right hand side

Re: Is my tree blocking my dish?
well yes and yes and no....
i think your existing dish is not just quite right. maybe a skew problem. yes sometimes trees and things get in the way, but to loose all the transponders on 119 makes me think that the dish is close but not just right.
the 33 inch dish will do great. much more signal.....

Re: Is my tree blocking my dish?
Needs to have clear shot to open sky. If it is still pointing toward the rees, you will still get a bad or no signal. Try to get a open shot if possible, or crank up the chain saw and lay that tree down. FTA is more important than a tree anyway...LOL

Re: Is my tree blocking my dish?
well we know JC is not a tree hugger LOL.. also just for info yes leaves will block a signal and so will the old style windows .. the glass is made of lead .. just a little fact for ya all ..
i had a buddy who had his dish pointed at the neighbors tree and he did not get his 119 also.. in the summer then we had a wind storm and the tree fell over .. so he said ,,i think he did a midnight run with a chain saw .. LOL

Re: Is my tree blocking my dish?
Have the same **** problem...Now i have to convert 2 dishes to one and move it from the back of the house to the side. Some neighbors should be shot when they plant stupid trees.

Re: Is my tree blocking my dish?
i think it is my tree because i didnt move the dish at all and ever since those leaves starting sprouting i saw my signal slowly drop from 50 to 40 to 30 to 20 to 10 and finally 0....grrrrr stupid maple tree
the tree is sooooooooo tall too its like 2 and 1/2 storys tall....if i cut it down i think its gonna fall pretty hard on the fence and might damage it =S

Re: Is my tree blocking my dish?
Really want your signal back? Set up a searchlight in the tree at night and aim it at the neighbour,s bedroom. In a day or two you should be able to get at least S 96 and Q100.Just don,t sit in the tree, he might be a marksman.

Re: Is my tree blocking my dish?
just kill the tree and youll never have leaves again..
drill 4 or 5 - 1inch holes in the tree all arround and put table salt in them and seal them (tope or any kinda cork) and youll have a dead tree without liaves and be able to watch tv..just do it at your own risk..
good luck
