Re: need your help making list
well sonicview has good pvr recievers like the new 360 elite and if you want hd then the sv8000 with 8psk module. We really need to know what his budget is to give you better suggestions. If we knew how many sats is he going for we can give you a list of any needed switches etc.....

Re: need your help making list
Nfusion is an older unit, poor hardware but the most uptime then all the other IKS units. Although Neosat with the new HIKS might change things around.
I'd wait a little before buying an IKS based unit, see how the HIKS will handle.
Cardless:
VS Ultra, SV700, CW700, are all great units. Your VS Ultra is one of the best and has one of the fastest support.
PVR Units:
CW800, Neosat ipro2000, CNX. All great PVR units.

Re: need your help making list
well iks i would say the neosat ipro it has some bugs right now but once it is fully up not much will touch it it has a fast procecssor and a pvr via external Hard drive .. now as for regular recievers
what i think is good is the
sv 4000 same as the ultra but i think faster and nice guide good parental lock out if ya have kids ..
but really i think the best bang for the buck right now is the sv 360 elite
dual tuners for full pvr fast 333mhs processor .. great menu still has some bugs but still in beta but for 199.00 you can't beat the price
these are some .. tell your bud to become a member and read here is a linkwith reviews
this way he can make a decision and ask then when he is interested
i say sonicview as they are awesome and tops for support ..
