questions about convert .trp files
ok i have been getting alot of questions on .trp files to mpeg with mpeg stream clip .. here is what you have to do .
1 . make sure that you have the newest video codec on you computer or it will never work
vista 32 - Free-Codecs.com :: Download Vista Codec Package 4.7.2 : With Vista Codec Package installed, you won't need to install any other codec or filter.
next if you have xp -
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/XP_Codec_Pack.htm
now make sure you have a 32 bit for this or look for the 64 bit version of these .. if you are not sure right click on my computer and then properties scroll down and it will tell you ..
next mpeg stream clip make sure you have the newest quicktime installed
then open mpeg stream clip hit open files then go to you recorded movie it will only show you the .trp file highlight and open then it could give you a warning just click comtinue .. then next hit files and scroll down to mpeg convert click on that choose where you want to save the output file and hit ok and boom it will start
i just did a HD .trp file 1 gig in 10 seconds .. time will vary but not much
. it does not matter what sat you recorded from it is all video ..
i just converted a .trp file from bev HD and a bev SD and a dn sd ( i don't have a 8psk card yet)
anyways if you follow this it will convert easy
make sure you update all codec or it will not work ..
later and have fun

Re: questions about convert .trp files
hello ,
i am new to this forum and also new to the world of converting files .
i have recorded a football match in high-def to my external hard drive . it is a .trp file . i would now like to burn this file to blu-ray disc and preserve the resolution and i would like to play it on blu-ray player . i know i need to convert this file , but what i dont know is : to what file i need to convert it and how to do that . once this file would be converted , i would burn it using the LG GGW-H20L SUPER MULTI BLUE burner .
what i want is to record high-def programmes to hdd and then burn them to blu-ray disc and ofcourse preserve the high-def resolution .
any help would be appriciated ,
thx.

Re: questions about convert .trp files
INTERESTING PROPOSAL BY GREGOR
not sure if it is even doable yet im still trying to find out what all the different reciever pvr output formats r
my output is .ts file and i bought a program called video redo to convert it to.vob files to make dvd or u can make a mpeg file as well.
im not sure what blu ray format type of file is but if it was .vob it might work i dont see the .trp file in video redos setup.
maybe somebody will have a better answer for u ill be watching because i have a need to know i will be upgrading to hd in the fall.

Re: questions about convert .trp files
nice burner i am getting one also but it is more technical than just burning but there is probably programs that will do it .. but here is a link with all the resources to do it .. read and read more
How to Burn an HD-DVD to Blu-Ray - Mahalo
now remember you have a .trp file first so you will have to convert
HD-DVD is VC-1, it will read VC-1.stream.0.
If your HD-DVD is H.264, it will read H.264.stream.0.
you will have to read more as i do not have a blu ray burner yet and have not been able to test .. but i am sure you will get it ..

You mention Quicktime and mpeg stream clip is this the program you use to convert .trp to mpeg? I have the latest codec package and Quicktime, not the pro version. Do I need to get both the pro version and mpeg stream clip addon to make this work?

Re: questions about convert .trp files
no mpegsteam clip is here and as long as you have quicktime (freeone)it will convert for you
but if you want full mpeg2 you need the mpeg2 codec from quicktime it is 19.00 unless you can find it for free somewhere ..
